Jonah Prayed to the Lord God From the Belly of the Fish |
Jonah 2:1-10 The Book of Jonah [in Smaller Chunks] |
Then, Jonah prayed to the Lord his God [from] the fish's belly, & said, I cried [out] to the Lord, [because] of [my] affliction, & He heard me. I cried [out from] the belly of hell, & You heard my voice. For You [had] me [thrown] into the deep, in the midst of the seas; & the [flood] [waters] [surrounded around] me. |
All Your billows & Your waves [flowed] over me. Then, I said, I am [thrown] out of Your sight; & [still,] I will look again toward Your holy temple. [1 Kings 8:38-40 [Whatever] prayer & [request is] made by any man, or by all Your people, Israel, which every man shall know the [affliction] of his own heart, & spread [out] his hands toward this, [the Lord's] house. |
Then, You hear in heaven, Your dwelling place, & do, & give to every man, whose heart You know, according to his ways, (for You, even only You, know the hearts of the children of men.) That they may fear [respect] You all the days that they live in the land, which You [gave] to our [forefathers.] |
The waters [surrounded around] me, & the weeds were wrapped [around] my head, & the depths [enclosed around] me, even to the [point of death.] O Lord my God, I went down [into the depths & saw] the bottoms of the mountains. The earth with [all its barriers were] [around] me, forever. |
[Still,] You have brought [me] up [& saved] my life from corruption. [Psalm 86:13 For Your mercy is great toward me: & You have delivered my soul from the lowest hell.] |
When my soul, [a.k.a. life,] fainted within me, I remembered the Lord. And my prayer came into Your holy temple, to You. [Those, who] observe [what are:] lying vanities, [abandon] their own mercy. |
[Jeremiah 1:16 And I will [express] My judgments against them [about] all their wickedness. [Those,] who have [abandoned] Me, & have burned incense to other gods & worshiped the works [made by] their own hands.] |
But I will sacrifice to You, with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay, [what] I have vowed. Salvation is [from] the Lord. [Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light & my Salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid?] |
And the Lord [spoke] to the fish, & it vomited Jonah out upon the dry land. |

Jonah 1:1-17 Jonah Tries to Flee from the Lord's Request
Jonah Tries to Flee from the Lord's Request |
Jonah 1:1-17 The Book of Jonah [in Smaller Chunks] |
Now, the Word of the Lord came to Jonah, [Amittai's] son, saying, Arise & go to Nineveh, that [large] city, & cry [out] against it. For their wickedness [has] come up before Me. But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish, from the presence of the Lord & went down to Joppa. |
And [Jonah] found a ship going to Tarshish, so he paid the fare [for it,] & went down into [the] [ship,] to go with them to Tarshish, from the presence of the Lord. But the Lord sent out a [enormous] wind [onto] the sea. And there was a mighty [storm on] the sea, so that the ship was [likely] to be broken. |
[Psalm 107:25-27 For He commands, & raises the stormy wind, [that] lifts up [its] waves. [The waves] mount up to the heaven, & they go down again to the depths. Their soul [melts,] because of trouble. They reel [back & forth] & stagger like a [drunk] man, & are at their wit's end.] |
Then, the mariners were afraid, & every man cried [out] to his god. [1 Chronicles 16:26 For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.] |
And [they] [threw out] the [cargo] into the sea, that was in the ship, to lighten [it.] But Jonah had gone down into the sides of the ship. And he lay [down] & was fast asleep. So, the ship masters, [a.k.a. captain,] came to [Jonah,] & said to him, What [do you] mean [by sleeping,] O you sleeper? |
Arise, & call upon your God, if [perhaps] that God will think [about] us, [so] that we [don't] perish. [Psalm 107:28-30 Then, they cry [out] to the Lord in their trouble, & He brings them out of their [distress.] He makes the storm calm, so that [its] waves are still. Then, they are glad, because [the waves] are [peaceful,] so He brings them to their desired [harbor.] |
And everyone said to his fellow [sailor,] Come, & let us [draw] lots, [so] that we may know for [whom,] this evil [has] come upon us. So, they [drew] lots, & the lot fell upon Jonah. Then, they said to him, We pray [that] you tell us, for [what reason,] is this evil upon us? |
What is your occupation? And [where] [do] you [come] [from?] What is your country? And what people are you [from?] And [Jonah] said to them, I am a Hebrew. And I fear [respect] the Lord, the God of heaven, [Who] has made the sea & the dry land. |
[Genesis 1:9-10 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together to one place, & let the dry land appear. And it was so. And God called the dry land: Earth. And He called the gathering together of the waters: Seas. And God saw that it was good.] |
Then, the men were exceedingly afraid & said to [Jonah,] Why [have] you done this? For the men knew that he fled from the presence of the Lord, because he had told them. Then, they said to [Jonah,] What shall we do to you, [so] that the sea may be calm [for] us? For the sea [was growing more] tempestuous. |
And [Jonah] said to them, [Pick] me up, & [throw] me [overboard] into the sea, so the sea shall be calm [for] you. [Because] I know that this [large storm] is upon you for my sake. [Still,] the men rowed hard to bring [the ship] to the [shore,] but they couldn't. |
For the sea [was growing more] tempestuous against them. [Acts 5:39 But if it [is] of God, you can't overthrow it; lest [by chance] you are even found to fight against God.] |
[For this reason,] they cried [out] to the Lord, & said, We [beg] You, O Lord, we [beg] You, [don't] let us perish for this man's life & [don't] lay upon us innocent [bloodshed.] For You, O Lord, [have] done as it pleased You. |
So, they [picked] up Jonah, & [threw] him [overboard] into the sea. And the sea [stopped] from [is] raging. [Psalm 89:8-9 O Lord God of Hosts, who is a strong Lord [similar] to You? Or [similar] to Your faithfulness [all around] You?You [rule] the raging of the sea. When [its] waves arise, you [still] them.] |
Then, the men exceedingly feared [respected] the Lord, & offered a sacrifice to the Lord, & made vows. [Matthew 14:30-33 But when [Peter] saw the boisterous wind, he was afraid; & beginning to sink, he cried [out,] saying, Lord, save me. |
And immediately Jesus stretched [out] His hand, & caught him, & said to him, O you of little faith, [for what reason] did you doubt? And when they [came] into the ship, the wind ceased. Then, [those, who] were on the ship came & worshiped Him, saying, [Truthfully,] You are the Son of God.] |
Now, the Lord had prepared a [large] fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish 3 days & 3 nights. |

Obadiah verses 1-21 The Vision of Obadiah
The Vision of Obadiah |
Obadiah verses 1-21 The Book of Obadiah [in Smaller Chunks] |
The Lord God [said, This] [is] the vision of Obadiah, [about] Edom. We have heard a rumor, [a.k.a. a report,] from the Lord, [that] an ambassador is sent among the heathen. You, arise, & let us rise up against her in battle. |
[Look,] you are greatly despised, & I have made you [insignificant] among the heathen [nations.] The pride of your heart has deceived you, you, [who] dwell in [cracks] of the [rocks.] Whose [residence] is high; & [who] says in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? |
[Revelation 6:15-17 And the: kings of the earth; great men; rich men; [head] captains; mighty men, every man [bound in chains;] & every free man, hid themselves in the dens & in the rocks of the mountains. |
And said to the mountains & rocks, Fall on us, & hide us from the face of Him, [Who] sits on the throne, & from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of His wrath [has] come, & who shall be able to stand?] |
[Although] you: exalt yourself [like] the eagle, & you [put] your nest among the stars, I will bring you down [from] [there,] says the Lord. [Malachi 1:4-5 [Since,] Edom says, We are [poor,] but we will return & [rebuild] the desolate places, The Lord of Hosts says [this,] They shall [rebuild,] but I will throw [it] down. |
And they shall call them, The Border of Wickedness & The people against whom, the Lord [is indignant] forever.] And your eyes shall see, & you shall say, The Lord will be magnified from [beyond] the border of Israel.] |
If thieves & robbers came to you [at] night, (how you are cut off!) Wouldn't they have stolen [until] they had enough? If the grape gathers came to you, wouldn't they leave some grapes? [Jeremiah 49:9-10 If grape gatherers come to you, wouldn't they leave some grapes [for] gleaning? |
If thieves [come at] night, they will destroy [until] they have enough. But I have made Esau, [a.k.a. Edom,] bare, & I have uncovered his secret places. He shall not be able to hide himself. His seed, [a.k.a. descendants,] & his brethren, & his neighbors [are plundered] & he no [longer exists.] |
How the things of Esau are searched out! How his hidden things are sought [after!] And all the men of your [alliance] have even brought you to the border. The men, [who] were at peace with you, have deceived you, & prevailed against you. |
[Those, who] eat your bread, have laid a [trap] under you. There isn't [any] understanding in him. [Psalm 41:9 *[Yes, my] own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, [who ate] my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.] |
The Lord says, Shouldn't I [on] that day, even destroy the wise men [from] Edom, & [destroy] understanding [from] the [Mountain] of Esau? [Isaiah 29:14 Therefore, [look,] I will proceed to do a marvelous work, among this people, even a marvelous work & a wonder, [a.k.a. a miracle.] For the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, & the understanding of their [cautious] men, shall be [hidden.] |
O Teman, & your mighty men shall be [distressed in order] that, everyone from the [Mountain] of Esau, may be cut off [& slaughtered.] Shame shall cover you, for your violence against your brother, Jacob. And you shall be cut off forever. |
[Ezekiel 25:12-13 The Lord God says [this;] Because [what] Edom has [done] by taking vengeance against the house of Judah & has offended greatly, & avenged himself upon them. |
Therefore, the Lord God says [this;] I will also stretch out [My] hand upon Edom, & will cut off man & [animal] from it. And I will make it desolate from Teman, & [those] of Dedan shall fall by the sword.] |
You [were] even [like] them, [on] the day that you [stood] on the other side, & [on] the day that the stranger carried his [troops] away captive, & foreigners entered into his gates, & cast lots upon Jerusalem. |
[Psalm 83:4-5 They have said, Come & let's cut them off from being a nation; [so] that the name of Israel, may no [longer] be [remembered.] For they have consulted together [in agreement,] & they are [in alliance] against you.] |
But you shouldn't have [just] [watched] on the day [that] your brother became a stranger. Neither should you have rejoiced over the children of Judah, [on] the day of their destruction. Neither should you have spoken proudly [on] the day of distress. |
[Micah 4:11-12 Now, many nations [have] also gathered against you, [who] say, Let her be defiled, & Let our eye look upon Zion. But they [don't] know the thoughts of the Lord, & neither [do] they understand His [advice.] For He shall gather them [like] the [wheat] sheaves [onto] the floor.] |
You shouldn't have entered into the gate of My people [on] the day of their clamisty. [Yes,] you shouldn't have [just watched,] their affliction, on their day of calamity, nor [should you] have [seized] their [possessions on] the day of their calamity. |
Neither should you have stood in the [crossroads,] to cut off those of his, [who escaped.] Neither should you have delivered up those of his, [who remained on] the day of distress. For the day of the Lord is [close] upon all the heathen. [Just like,] you have done, it shall be done to you. |
Your reward shall [be] [returned] upon your own head. [Revelation 18:4-6 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, My people, [so] that you [aren't participants in] her sins, & that you [don't] receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, & God has remembered her [sinfulness.] Reward her even [like] she rewarded you, & double to her, double according to her works, [a.k.a. deeds.] In the cup which she has filled, fill to her double.] |
For [like] you have drunk upon My holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually. [Isaiah 5:22-24 Woe to [those, who] are mighty to drink wine, & men of strength, to [mix] strong [drinks. Who] justify the wicked for reward, [a.k.a. bribes,] & take away the [rights] of the righteous from him! |
Therefore, [like] the fire devours the stubble, & the flame consumes the [debris,] so their root shall be [rotten,] & their blossom shall go up [like] dust; because they have cast away the Law of the Lord of Hosts, & despised the Word of the Holy One of Israel.] |
[Yes,] they shall drink & they shall swallow down, & they shall be [like] they hadn't [existed.] But deliverance shall be upon Mount Zion. And there shall be holiness. And the house of Jacob shall possess [Edom's] possessions. |
[Amos 9:8 [Look,] the eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom & I will destroy it, from off the [surface] of the earth; [except] that I won't [totally] destroy the house of Jacob, [a.k.a. Israel,] says the Lord.] |
And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, & the house of Joseph shall be a flame. And the house of Esau [shall be like] stubble, & they shall [start a fire within] them, [that] [devours] them. And there shall not be any remaining [from] the house of Esau; for the Lord has spoken it. |
[Isaiah 9:18 For wickedness burns [like] the fire. It shall devour the [sticker bushes] & the thorns & shall [start a fire] in the thickets of the forest. And they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.] |
And [those] of the South shall possess the [Mountain] of Esau. And [those] of the plain, [shall possess] the Philistines. And they shall possess the fields of: Ephraim & Samaria. And Benjamin shall possess Gilead. |
[Isaiah 11:14 But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines, toward the West. They shall [plunder those] of the East together. They shall lay their hand upon Edom & Moab. And the children [people] of Ammon shall obey them.] |
And [those] [from] captivity of this [army] of the children [people] of Israel, shall possess [what belongs to] the Canaanites, even [all the way] to Zarephath. And [those] [from the] captivity of Jerusalem, [who are] in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the South. |
[Jeremiah 32:44 Men shall buy fields for money, & [sign deeds,] & seal them, & [get] witnesses in the land of Benjamin, & in the places [around] Jerusalem & in the cities of Judah. And in the cities of the mountains, & in the cities of the valley, & in the cities of the South. For I will cause [them] to return [from] their captivity, says the Lord.] |
And [deliverers] shall come up on Mount Zion to judge the [Mountain] of Esau. And the kingdom shall be the Lord's. [Revelation 11:15 And the 7th Angel sounded [a trumpet,] & there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world [have] become the kingdoms of our Lord & of His Christ. And He shall [rule] forever & ever.] |

Amos 9:1-15 They May Try to Get Away, but It Won't Work
They May Try to Get Away, but It Won't Work |
Amos 9:1-15 The Book of Amos [in Smaller Chunks] |
I saw the Lord standing [over] the altar & He said, [Strike] the lintel, [a.k.a. post, over] the door [frame, so] that the [door] posts may shake, & cut them in [their heads,] [when it falls on] all of them. And I will slay the last of them, with the sword. He, of them, [who] flees, shall not [escape.] |
And he, [who] escapes of them, shall not be delivered. [Although] they may dig to hell, [My] hand shall take them [from] [there.] [Although] they climb up to heaven, I will bring them down [from] [there.] [Jeremiah 23:23-27 The Lord says, Am I a God [close] at hand, & not a God [far away?] |
The Lord says, Can any hide himself in secret [places, so] that I shall not see him? Don't I fill heaven & earth? says the Lord. I have heard what the prophets said, [who] prophesy lies in My Name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed, [a.k.a. had a vision.] |
How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets, [who] prophesy lies? [Yes,] they are prophets of the deceit of their own [hearts, who] think to cause My people to forget My Name, by their dreams [that] every man [tells] to his neighbor, [like] their [forefathers] have forgotten My Name, [instead] for Baal.] |
And [although] they hide themselves [on] the top of Carmel, I will search & take them out [from] [there.] And [although] they [are hidden] from My sight in the bottom of the sea, I will command the serpents [there] & he shall bite them. And [although] they go into captivity [in front of] their enemies, I will command the sword [there,] & it shall slay them. |
And I will [focus My] eyes upon them for [harm] & not for good. [Leviticus 17:10-11 And [whatever] man there [is] of the house of Israel, or of the strangers, [who stay] among you, [who] eats any [type] of blood; I will even [focus] My face against that soul, [who] eats [with the] blood, & will cut him off from among his people. |
For the life of the flesh is in the blood. And I have given it to you, [for] upon the altar, to make an atonement for your souls. For it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.] |
And the Lord God of Hosts is He, [Who] touches the land, & it shall melt. [2 Peter 3:9-10 The Lord is not slack, [a.k.a. slow, about] His promise, [like] some men [consider] slackness. But is [patient toward] us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. |
But the day of the Lord will come [like] a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with great noise, & the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth & also the works, [a.k.a. things made,] that are [in there,] shall be burned up.] |
And all, [who] dwell [in there] shall mourn. And it shall [totally] rise up like a flood; & shall be drowned, [like] by the flood, of [the Nile River] of Egypt. It is He, [Who builds] His [mansion] in heaven [with many] stories. |
[John 14:2-3 In My Father's house are many mansions. If it weren't so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go & prepare a place for you, I will come again, & receive you unto Myself; [so] that where I Am, you may also be there.] |
And [has established] His troops [on] the earth. [Joel 2:11 And the Lord shall utter His voice [in front of] His army. For His camp is very [large.] For He [carries out] His Word, & is strong. For the day of the Lord is great & very terrible, & who can [bear] it?] |
He, [who] calls for the waters of the sea & pours them out upon the [surface] if the earth. The Lord is His Name. The Lord says, Aren't you, O children [people] of Israel, [like] [the] children of the Ethiopians? Haven't I brought Israel up, out of the land of Egypt? |
And [brought] the Philistines from Caphtor, & the Syrians from Kir? [Jeremiah 47:4 Because of the day that comes to [plunder] all the Philistines, & to cut off from Tyrus, [a.k.a. Tyre,] & Zidon, [a.k.a. Sidon,] every helper [who] remains. For the Lord will [plunder] the Philistines, & the [rest] of the country of Caphtor.] |
[Look,] the eyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom, & I will destroy it from off the [surface] of the earth; [except] that I won't [totally] destroy the house of Jacob, [a.k.a. Israel,] says the Lord. |
For, [look,] I will command, & I will sift the house of Israel among all nations, like [flour from grain] is sifted in a sieve, [a.k.a. strainer.] [Still,] not the least, [a.k.a. smallest,] grains shall fall upon the earth. |
[Isaiah 65:8-9 The Lord says [this; Like] the new wine is found [within] the cluster, & [someone] says, [Don't] destroy it; for a blessing is [within] it, so I will do from My servants' sakes, [so] that I may not destroy all [of] them. And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, & out of Judah, an inheritor of My mountains. And [My] elect, [a.k.a. Chosen,] shall dwell there.] |
All the sinners of My people shall die by the sword, [who] say, The evil shall not [overpower] us, nor [hinder] us. *[On] that day, I will raise up the tabernacle of David, that [has] fallen, & close up, [a.k.a. repair] the breaches, [a.k.a. damages, of it.] |
And I will [rebuild] it [like during the previous] days. [So,] that [those] may possess the [rest] of Edom & all of the heathen, [who] are called by My Name, says the Lord, [Who] does this. |
[2 Samuel 8:13-15 And David [got] a name [for himself,] when he returned from [killing] 18,000 men of the Syrians in the Valley of Salt. And throughout all Edom, he put garrisons, & all [those] of Edom became David's servants. And the Lord preserved, [a.k.a. saved,] David, [wherever] he went.] |
The Lord says, [Look,] the days come that the [man who plows] shall overtake the [harvester.] And the [trampler] of grapes [shall overtake] him, who sows [seed.] And the mountains shall [drip] down sweet wine, & [shall flow down] all the hills [like melting snow.] |
And I will [return] again, [those] of My people of Israel, [from] captivity. And they shall [rebuild] the [ruined] cities, & inhabit them. And they shall plant vineyards & drink [its] wine. They shall also make gardens, & eat the fruit [from] them. |
And I will plant them [in] their land, & they shall no [longer] be pulled up, out of their land, which I have given them, says the Lord your God. [Isaiah 60:21 Your people, the work of My hands, the Branch of My planting, all shall also be righteous. They shall inherit the land forever, so] that I may be glorified.] |
