The Song Moses Wrote Before He Died |
Deuteronomy 32:1-52 Deuteronomy the Fifth Book of Moses |
O you heavens, [listen] & I will speak. And hear O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine, [a.k.a. teaching,] shall drop [like] the rain & [cleanse like] the dew. [Like] the [dew] upon the tender herb & [like] the showers upon the grass. |
Because I will [declare] the Name of the Lord & you [shall] ascribe, [a.k.a. designate,] greatness to our God. He is the Rock & His works [are] perfect. For all His ways are [justice.] A God of Truth & without [sin.] He is just, a.k.a. [fair] & [righteous.] |
They have corrupted themselves. Their spot, [a.k.a. sinful blemish,] is not [that] of [the Lord God’s] children. They are a [uncooperative] & crooked generation. Do you [repay] the Lord [like this,] [after all He has done for you,] O foolish & unwise people? |
Isn’t He your [heavenly] Father, [Who] made, [a.k.a. created] & established you? Isn't He your father, [Who has] bought you? [Galatians 4:4-6 *But when the fulness of time [had] come, God sent [out] His Son, [born from] a woman, [Who was born,] under the Law [of Moses,] to redeem [those, who] were under the Law, [so] that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because you are sons, God [has] sent [out] the [Holy] Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.] |
Remember the days of old, & consider, [a.k.a. reflect on,] years of many generations [of the past.] Ask your father & he will [show] you & your elders & they will tell you. [Psalm 44:1-2 We have heard with our ears, O God, our [forefathers] have told us, what work, [a.k.a. miracles,] You did in their days, in the times of old. How You [drove] out the heathen with Your hand & planted them. How You [afflicted] the people & cast them out.] |
When the Most High, [a.k.a. the Lord God,] divided their inheritance to the nations. When He separated the sons of Adam & He set [boundaries for] the people, according to the number of the children of Israel [a.k.a. Jacob.] [Acts 17:24-27 God, [Who] made the world & all things [in it, since] He is Lord of heaven & earth, & [doesn't dwell] in temples made with hands. Neither is [He] worshiped with men's hands, as though He needed anything, [since] He [gives] life & breath to all things, And [has] made all nations of men of one blood, [in order,] to dwell on the [surface] of all the earth, & [has] determined the times [that were] [previously] appointed, & the [boundaries] of their habitation, [a.k.a. place they reside.] [So,] that they should seek the Lord, if [perhaps] they might [search for] Him, & find Him, [although] He [isn't] far from everyone of us.] |
The Lord’s portion is His people. Jacob, [a.k.a. Israel,] is the lot of His inheritance. [The Lord God] found him in the desert, in the [wasteland] & howling wilderness. [God] led him [around,] & He instructed him. [The Lord] kept him as the apple of His eye. |
[Like] an eagle [stirs] up her nest, & [flutters] over her young, & [spreads out] her wings & [takes] them, [carrying] them on her wings. [Similarly,] the Lord alone [led] him, [a.k.a. Israel,] & there was no strange god with [them.] |
[The Lord God] made [Israel] ride on the [heights of the land, so they] might eat the increase of [the produce of] the fields. And He [fed them with] honey out of a rock & oil out of the rock [of flint.] |
Butter [from cows] & milk [from] sheep, with [fattened] lambs, & rams [from] [Bashan's] breed, & goats, with the [richest kernels] of wheat, & you [drank the finest wine] of the grape. But Jeshurun, [a.k.a. Israel, grew] fat & kicked, [a.k.a. rebelled.] |
You have [grown] fat & you [have] grown: [calloused,] & [plump.] Then [Israel abandoned] God, [Who] made [them,] & [didn’t regard] the Rock of [their] Salvation. [Genesis 1:26-28 And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion, [a.k.a. authority,] over: the fish of the sea; [birds] of the air; the cattle, [a.k.a. livestock;] & over all the earth, & over every creeping thing that [creeps] upon the earth. So, God created man in His Own image. In the image of God, He created him. He created them: male & female. And God blessed them, & God said to them, Be fruitful, & multiply, & replenish the earth, & [control] it. And have [authority] over the fish of the sea; the [birds] of the air;] & over every living thing that [moves] upon the earth.] |
They provoked [the Lord God] to jealousy & anger with strange gods & abominations. [1 Chronicles 16:25-26 For great is the Lord, & to be greatly praised. He is also to be feared, [a.k.a. respected,] above all gods. For all the gods of the people are idols. But the Lord made the heavens.] |
They sacrificed to [demons,] not to [the Lord] God. To gods, whom they [didn't] know, that newly came up, [a.k.a. were made,] whom your [forefathers didn’t] fear [respect.] |
[Revelation 9:20-21 And the rest of the men, [who] weren't killed by these plagues, & [still didn't repent,] of the works [made by] their hands, that they shouldn't worship: [demons;] idols of: gold; silver; brass; stone; & wood, [that] can neither: see; hear, nor walk. Neither [did] they [repent] of their: murders; sorceries; fornications, [a.k.a. adultery;] nor their thefts.] |
You [aren’t mindful] & [have] forgotten the Rock [Who Fathered] you & God, [Who] formed you. [Judges 2:11-13 And the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, & served Baalim. And they [abandoned] the Lord God of their [forefathers, Who] brought them out of the land of Egypt. And [they] followed other gods, [from] the gods of the people, [who] were [all around] them, & bowed themselves to them, & provoked the Lord to anger. And they [abandoned] the Lord, & served Baal & Ashtaroth.] |
And when the Lord saw it, He [loathed] them, because of the provoking of His sons & His daughters. [2 Kings 17:16-18 And they left all the commandments of the Lord their God, & made [themselves molded] images, even 2 calves, & made a grove, & worshiped all the host, [a.k.a. stars or constellations,] of heaven, & served Baal. And they caused their sons, & their daughters to pass through the fire. And used divination, & enchantments, & sold themselves to do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger. Therefore, the Lord was very angry with Israel, & removed them out of His sight. There [were] none left, but only the tribe of Judah.] |
And [God] said, I will hide My face from them. [Isaiah 54:7-8 For a [little] moment, I have [abandoned] you; but I will gather you with great mercies. In a little [anger,] I hid My face from you for a moment. But I will have mercy on you with everlasting kindness, [says] the Lord your Redeemer.] |
They have moved, [a.k.a. incited,] Me to jealousy with [what] is not God. They have provoked Me to anger with their vanities & I will [make them jealous by] those [who] are not a people. I will provoke them to anger [by] a foolish nation. [Romans 11:11 Then, I say, Have they stumbled, [so] that they [would] fall? God forbid, but [instead,] [that] through their fall, Salvation [has] come to the Gentiles, [in order] to provoke them, [a.k.a. Israelites,] to jealousy.] |
For [My] anger is a [growing] fire, & shall burn to the lowest [parts of] hell. [It] shall [devour] the earth [as it grows] & will set the foundations of the mountains on fire. I will [increase their disasters] & [use up My] arrows upon them. [Psalm 7:10-12 My defense is [from] God, [Who saves] the upright in heart. God [judges] the righteous, & God is angry everyday with the wicked. If he [doesn't return,] [from his wicked ways,] [God] will [sharpen] His sword; & He [has] bent His bow, & made it ready.] |
They shall be burnt with [pangs of] hunger & devoured [by scorching] heat & bitter destruction. Also, I will send the teeth of beasts, [a.k.a. wild animals,] upon them, & poisonous [snakes in] the [dirt.] |
The sword [outside] & terror [inside,] shall destroy both the young man; & the [innocent maiden, the nu;sing child;] & the man with gray [hair.] I said I would scatter them into corners, [a.k.a. to the 4 ends of the earth,] & I would make the [memory] of them cease from [mankind.] [Ezekiel 20:13-14 But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; & they [didn't follow] My [mandates;] & they despised My judgments, [that] if a man [does] [them,] he shall even live [by] them. And they greatly [defiled] My Sabbaths. Then I said, I would pour out My fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them. But I [worked] [miracles] for My Name's sake, [so] that it should not be [defiled in front of] the heathen, in whose sight I brought them out [of Egypt.] |
[If] it weren't that I [had dreaded] the [angry enemy’s] [boasts,] lest their adversaries [misunderstand] & say, Our [hands] [are] high, [& have] done all this [devastation,] & not the Lord] For they are a nation [without advice] & neither is there any understanding in them. |
[If only] they were wise, [so] that they understood this, [so] they would consider [what their final] end would [be!] How [could someone] chase 1,000 & 2 [men cause] 10,000 to [flee, unless] their Rock had sold them & the Lord had shut them [out?] [Psalm 44:11-12 You [have] given us [up,] like sheep appointed for meat, & have scattered us among the heathen. You [sell] Your people for [nothing,] & [don't] increase Your wealth by their price.] |
Even our enemies, being judges, [agree that] their rock is not [like] our Rock. [1 Kings 18:33-40 And [Elijah] put the wood in order, & cut the [bull] in pieces, & laid [it] on the wood & said, Fill 4 barrels with water, & pour it on the burnt sacrifice, & on the wood. And [Elijah] said, Do it the 2nd time. And they did it the 2nd time. And [Elijah] said, Do it the 3rd time. And they did it the 3rd time. And the water ran [all around] the altar. And [Elijah] also filled up the trench with water. And it [happened] at the time of offering the evening sacrifice, that Elijah, the prophet, came [close,] & said, Lord God of: Abraham; Isaac; & Israel, let it be known this day, that You [are] God in Israel, & that I am Your servant. And that at Your Word, I have done all these things. Hear me, O Lord, hear me, [so] that this people may know that You [are] the Lord God, & that You [have returned] their heart back again. Then, the fire of the Lord fell, & consumed the: burnt sacrifice; the wood; the stones; & the dust; & licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: And they said, The Lord, He Is the God. The Lord, He is the God.] |
For their vine [of ancestry,] is [from] the vine of Sodom & the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are [the] grapes & clusters [of bitterness.] Their wine is the poison of [serpents] & the cruel venom of [cobras.] Isn't this [put] up & [stored] with Me among My treasures? Vengeance & [restitution] belong to Me. In due time, [when] their foot [slips:] For the day of their calamity is at hand & the things that shall come upon them [are soon.] |
For the Lord shall judge His people & [withdraw] Himself for His [servants' sake,] when He [sees] their [strength] is gone & there [are] none [confined nor free,] [who remain.] [The Lord] shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted, [that ate] up the fat of their sacrifices & drank the wine of their drink the offerings? Let them rise up & help you & be your protection. [Psalm 115:4-9 Their idols are silver & gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they [don't] speak. They have eyes, but they [don't] see. They have ears, but they [don't] hear. They have noses, but they [don't] smell. They have hands, but they [don't touch.] They have feet, but they [don't] walk. Neither [do] they speak through their throat. [Those, who] make them are [similar] to them. So is everyone, [who trusts] in them.] |
See now that I, even I Am He & there is no god with Me. I kill & I make alive. I wound & I heal. Neither [are] there any [who] can deliver out of My hand. For I lift My hand up to heaven & say, I live forever. |
If I [sharpen] My [shiny] sword, & [My] hand [grasps it] in judgment, I will [deliver revenge] on [My] enemies & will [pay back those who] hate Me. I will make [My] arrows [will drip] with blood & My sword shall devour flesh, [from] the blood of [revenge] upon the enemy, [for the blood of those they killed & those they took captive.] |
*Rejoice, O you nations, with His people: for He will avenge the blood of His servants & will [take] vengeance [on] His [enemies] & will be merciful to His land & to His people. |
[Revelation 19:1-2 After these things I heard a great voice of [many] people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, glory, honor & power [belong] to the Lord our God. For True & Righteous are His judgments. For He has judged the great [harlot, who corrupted] the earth with her [adultery] & has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand.] |
Moses & [Joshua, Nun’s] son, came & [spoke] all the words of this song in the ears of the people. Moses [finished] speaking these words to all [of] Israel. [Moses] said to them, [Focus] your hearts [on] all the words that I testify among you this day, which you shall command your children to [obey] & do all the words of this Law. |
It [isn’t a worthless] thing for you, because [it’s for] your life. Through [doing] this thing, you shall prolong your [life] in the land, [where] you go over [the] Jordan [River] to possess it. |
The Lord spoke to Moses that [very] same day, saying, [Go] up into this mountain [of] Abarim, to Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, [across from] Jericho, & [see] the land of Canaan, [that] I give to the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel for a possession. |
[You will] die [there on the mountain where] you [go] up & be gathered to your people [in death, like] Aaron, your brother died in Mount Hor, & was gathered to his people, because you [both] [sinned] against Me at the Waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin. |
Because you [hadn’t] sanctified Me in the midst of the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel. [Numbers 20:7-12 And the Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Take the rod, & you gather the assembly together, you, & Aaron, your brother. And you speak to the rock before their eyes. And it shall give [out its] water, & you shall bring [out] to them, water out of the rock. So you [shall] give the congregation & their [animals] [water to] drink. And Moses took the rod from [in front of] the Lord, [like the Lord] commanded him. And Moses & Aaron gathered the congregation together [in front of] the rock. And [Moses] said to them, Hear now, you rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock? And Moses lifted up his hand, & with his rod, [Moses struck] the rock twice. And the water came out abundantly, & the congregation drank, & also their [animals.] And the Lord [spoke] to Moses & Aaron, Because you [hadn't] believed Me, to sanctify Me in the eyes of the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel, therefore, you shall not bring this congregation into the land [that] I have given them.] |
[Still] you [shall] see the land before you; but you [shall] not go [there into] the land [that] I give to the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel. |
