Warning to Depart From Believers Who Cause Discord or Distort the Bible |
2nd Thessalonians 3:1-18 Paul's Epistle to Thessalonians [in Smaller Chunks] |
Finally, brethren, [a.k.a. fellow-believers,] pray for us, [so] that the Word of the Lord may have free course, [a.k.a. may be spread freely,] & be glorified, even [like] it is with you. |
And [so] that we may be delivered from men [who are:] wicked & unreasonable, [a.k.a. those not guided by good logic or facts.] For all men [don't] have faith [in Jesus Christ.] But the Lord is faithful, Who shall: [establish] & keep you from evil. [John 17:15 I don't pray that You [should] take them out of the world, but that You [should] keep them from [what is:] evil.] |
And we have confidence in the Lord [related to] you, [so] that you both: do & will do, the things [that] we command you. [Philemon 1:21 I wrote to you, having confidence in your obedience, & knowing that you [will] also do more than I say.] |
And the Lord [directs] your hearts into love of God, & [to wait patiently] for Christ. Now brethren, we command you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you withdraw yourselves, [a.k.a. remove yourselves,] from every brother, [who walks, a.k.a. follows,] disorderly, [a.k.a. out of control,] & not [according to] the [Christian] tradition [that] he received [from] us. |
For [you,] yourselves, know how you ought to follow us. For we [didn't] behave disorderly among you. Neither did we eat any man's bread for [nothing, a.k.a. without paying for it.] But [we] [worked] with [hard] [labor] & [toiled] night & day, [so] that we might not be chargeable, [a.k.a. financially responsible,] to any of you. |
Not because we [lack] power, but to make ourselves an [example for] you to follow us. For even when we were with you, we commanded this [to] you, [so] that, if [anyone] wouldn't work, neither should he eat. |
For we hear that there are some [who follow] among you: disorderly, & not working at all, but are busybodies. [1 Timothy 5:13 And [then,] they learn to be idle, wandering [around] from house to house. And not only idle, but tattlers, & also busybodies, [a.k.a. gossips, saying] things which they [shouldn't.] |
Now, we command & [encourage] them [through] our Lord Jesus Christ, that [those, who] are such, [would] work with quietness, [a.k.a. peacefulness,] & eat their own bread. [1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 And that you study to be quiet, & do, [a.k.a. mind,] your own business, & to work with your own hands, [like] we commanded you. [So] that, you may [follow] honestly toward [those, who] are without [faith in Jesus Christ,] & [so] that you may lack nothing [you need.] |
But brethren, [don't] you [become] weary, [a.k.a. tired] [of] doing [good.] [Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary, [a.k.a. tired,] in doing [good.] For in due season, we shall reap, [a.k.a. harvest,] if we [don't] faint, [a.k.a. give up.] |
And if any man [doesn't] obey our [words in] this epistle, [a.k.a. letter,] note that man, & have no company, [a.k.a. don't associate,] with him, [so] that he may be ashamed. [Still don't consider] him [like] an enemy, but [advise] him [like] a brother. |
Now, [may] the Lord of Peace, Himself, by all means, give you peace always. [May] the Lord be with all [of] you. |
So, I write the salutation of Paul, with [my] own hand, which is the token, [a.k.a. evidence,] in every epistle, [a.k.a. letter.] |
[May] the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all [of] you. Amen. |
