Their Idols Couldn't Save Them From Captivity

Isaiah 46:1-13                                The Book of Isaiah [in Smaller Chunks]

Their idols were upon the [animals,] & upon the cattle. Bel [bows] down, & Nebo [stoops] [over.] Your carriages were [loaded heavily.] They [were] a burden to the [tired animals.] They stoop [over,] & they bow down together. [Jeremiah 50:1-2 The Word that the Lord [God] [spoke] against Babylon, & against the land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah, the prophet. You declare among the nations, & [proclaim] [it,] & [put] up a [banner,] & [proclaim] [it,] & [don't hide] [it.] Say Babylon is taken, [a.k.a. captured,] & Bel, [a.k.a. idol,] is [confused,] Merodach is broken in pieces. Her idols are [confused,] & her images are broken in pieces.]

They couldn't deliver the burden, but [they have] gone into captivity. [Pay attention] to Me, O house of Jacob, & all [those remaining] of the house of Israel, [who] are borne from the [stomach] by Me, & [who] are [carried] from the womb.

[Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the [stomach,] I knew you. And before you [came] forth out of the womb, I sanctified you, & I ordained, [a.k.a. appointed,] you, [as] a prophet to the nations.]

And even [until] your old age, I Am He, & I will carry you, even [until you have] [gray hair.] I have made [you,] & I will bear [you,] & I will even carry, & deliver you. [Psalm 37:37-40 [Note] the perfect, [a.k.a. blameless] man, & [see] the upright: for the end of that man is peace. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; & the end of the wicked shall be cut off. But the Salvation of the righteous is [from] the Lord. He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them, & deliver them. He shall deliver them from the wicked, & save them, because they trust in Him.]

[And] whom will you [say is] [similar to,] Me, & make Me equal, & compare Me, [so] that we may be [alike?] They lavish gold out of the bag, & weigh silver in the balance, [a.k.a. scale,] & hire a goldsmith; & he [makes] it a god. [Acts 17:29-30 [Since, like] we are the offspring of God, then we [shouldn't] think that [God's divine nature] is [similar] to gold, silver, or [carved rock, artistically carved by] man's [devices.] And God winked at the times of this ignorance; but now commands all men everywhere to repent.]

[Yes,] they fall down, & they worship [it.] They [put] him upon [their] shoulder, & carry him, & [put] him in his place, & he [stands;] he shall not [move] from his place. [Yes, someone] shall cry [out] to him, [but] he can't answer, nor save [himself] out of his trouble. [Psalm 115:4-9 Their idols are silver & gold, the work of men's hands. They have mouths, but they [don't] speak. They have eyes, but they [don't] see. They have ears, but they [don't] hear. They have noses, but they [don't] smell. They have hands, but they [don't touch.] They have feet, but they [can't] walk. Neither can they speak through their throat. [Those who] make them are [similar] to them, so is everyone who [trusts] in them. O Israel, you, trust in the Lord. He is their help & their shield.]

Remember this, & [demonstrate] yourselves [to be] men.  O you [sinners,] bring it to mind again. [Isaiah 44:19 And [no one considers] in his heart, & neither is their knowledge, nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire. [Yes,] I have also baked bread upon [its] coals, & I have roasted [meat,] & eaten it. And shall I make the [rest of it] an abomination? Shall I fall down to the [stump] of a tree?]

Remember the [previous] things of old: for I Am God, & there is none else. I Am God, & there [are] none like Me, declaring the end, from the beginning, & the things that [haven't happened] yet, from ancient times, saying, My counsel, [a.k.a. advice,] shall stand, & I will do all My pleasure. [Isaiah 48:5-6 Even from the beginning, I have declared it to you; & before it [happened,] I [proclaimed] it [to] you, lest you [should] say, [My] idol, & my [carved] image, & my molded image, [has] commanded them, & done them,. See all this, you [have] heard; & won't you declare it? I have [declared] new things from this time, [to] you, even hidden things, & you [didn't] know them.]

Calling the man from a [distant] country, a ravenous bird from the East, [who carries out] My [advice.] [Yes,] I have spoken it, & I will also [make it happen.] I have [intended] it, & I will also do it. [Isaiah 44:28 [Who says] of Cyrus, He is My shepherd, & shall [do] all My pleasure. [He] even [says] to Jerusalem, You [shall] be [rebuilt,] & to the temple, Your foundation shall be [relaid.]

[Pay attention] to Me, you stout-hearted, [who] are far from righteousness.  [Zechariah 7:11-12 But they refused to [pay attention,] & pulled away [their shoulders,] & stopped their ears, [so] that they [couldn't] hear. [Yes,] they made their hearts as [hard as] stone, lest they should hear the Law, & the Words, [that] the Lord of Hosts [has] sent, [through] His [Holy] Spirit by the [previous] prophets. Therefore, great wrath came from the Lord of Hosts.]

I bring My righteousness near. It shall not be far [away,] & My Salvation shall not [delay.] And I will place Salvation in Zion for Israel, My glory. [2 Peter 3:9-10 The Lord is not slack, [a.k.a. slow, about] His promise, [like] some men [consider] slackness; but is [patient toward] us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

*But the day of the Lord will come [like] a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with great noise, & the elements shall melt with fervent heat, & also the earth & the works, [a.k.a. things made,] that are [in there,] shall be burned up.]
