The Lord God Blessed David’s Lineage Foretelling of Jesus |
2 Samuel 7:1-29 The Book of 2 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks] |
It [happened,] when king [David] sat in his house, & the Lord had given him rest [all around] from all his enemies. King [David] said to Nathan, the prophet, Now see, I dwell, [a.k.a. live,] in a house of cedar, but the Ark of God [dwells] within curtains [in a tent.] |
And Nathan said to king [David,] Go, do all that is in your heart, for the Lord is with you. And it [happened] that night, the Word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying, Go & tell My servant, David, the Lord [says this, Shall] you build Me [a] house for Me to dwell in? |
[The fact is,] I haven’t dwelt in any house, since the time that I brought up the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked, [a.k.a. followed,] [& moved from place to place] in a tent & in a tabernacle. |
In all the places [in which] I have [followed] [along] with all the children, [a.k.a. people] of Israel, [did] I [ever] [speak] with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I command to feed My people, a Word, saying, Why [haven’t] you [built] Me [a] house of cedar? |
Therefore, now you [shall] say to My servant, David, The Lord of Hosts [says this,] I took you from the [pen for sheep,] from following the sheep, to be [the] ruler over Israel, My people. And I was with you [wherever] you [went,] & have [destroyed] all your enemies out of your sight, & have made [your] name great, [similar to] the [honored] men, [who] are [on] the earth. |
[Additionally,] I will [select] a place for My people, Israel, & will plant them [there, so] that they may [live] in a place of their own, & no [longer] move. Neither shall children, [a.k.a. people,] of wickedness afflict them anymore, [like they did before.] |
Since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people, Israel, [I] have [made] [it possible for] you to rest from all of your enemies. The Lord also [tells] you that He will make you a house. |
*And when your days [are] fulfilled, & you sleep with your [forefathers,] I will [raise] up your seed, [a.k.a. offspring or descendants, from] your [own] [body] after you, & I will establish His kingdom. |
[Matthew 1:17 So, all the generations from Abraham to David are 14 generations. From David until the carrying away [captive] to Babylon are 14 generations. And from the carrying away [captive into] Babylon, [until] Christ are 14 generations.] |
*He shall build [a] house for My Name, & I will [establish] the throne of His kingdom forever. I will be His Father, & He shall be My Son. [John 3:16-18 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life. |
For God [didn't send] His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He [who] believes in Him, is not condemned: but he [who doesn’t] believe is condemned already, because he didn’t believe in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.] |
If he [commits] iniquity, I will [correct] him with the rod of men, & with the stripes, [a.k.a. whip marks,] of the children of men. [Isaiah 53:5-7 *But He was wounded for our [sins.] He was bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement [for] our peace, was upon Him; & we are healed with His stripes. *All we like sheep have gone astray. We have everyone turned to his own [ways,] & the Lord [has] laid on Him the [sin] of us all. *He was oppressed, & He was afflicted, [still] He [didn't] open His mouth. He is brought [like] a lamb to the slaughter, & [like] a sheep before [its] shearers is [mute,] so He [didn't open] His mouth.] |
But My mercy shall not depart away from Him, [like] I took it] [away] from Saul, whom I [removed] before you. And your house, & your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever. |
Nathan [spoke] to David, according to all these Words [of] this vision. Then David went in, & sat before the Lord, & [David] said, Who am I, O Lord God? What is my house, [a.k.a. family,] that You [have] brought me [here?] |
And [even] this was [still] a small thing in Your sight, O Lord God, but You [have] spoken of the house of Your [servant,] for a [long time] to come. Is this the [type] [of kindness You normally display to a] man, O Lord God? |
What more can [I,] David, say to You? For You, Lord God, [know] Your servant. For Your Word’s sake, & according to Your Own heart, & You [have] done all these great things, & [made] them [known to] Your servant. |
For this reason,] You [are] great, O Lord God, for there is none like You. Neither is there any God [besides] You, according to all we have heard with our ears. [1 Chronicles 16:25-26 For great is the Lord, & to be praised greatly. He is also to be feared, [a.k.a. respected,] above all gods. For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.] |
And what one nation in the [world] is even like Israel, Your people, whom God went to redeem [as] a people [for] Himself, & to make [Himself] a Name, & to do great, & [terribly awesome] things for You, & for Your land, before Your people, [whom] You [redeemed] from Egypt [for] Yourself, from the nations & their gods? For You [have] confirmed Your people, Israel, to Yourself, to be a people [for] You forever. And You, Lord, [have] become their God. |
Now, O Lord God, establish the Word that You [have] spoken [about] [me,] Your servant, & [about] His house forever, & do [like] You [have] said. And let Your Name be magnified forever, saying, The Lord of Hosts is the God over Israel, & let the house of Your servant, David, be established before You. |
For You, O Lord of Hosts, God of Israel, [have] revealed to [me,] Your servant, saying, I will build you [a] house. Therefore, Your servant [has] found [within] his heart to pray this prayer to You. |
And now, O Lord God, You [are] God, & Your Words [are] True. [1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God [has] come, & [has] given us an understanding, [so] that we may know Him, [Who] Is True, & we are [believers] in Him, [Who] Is True, even in His son, Jesus Christ. This is the True God, & [faith in Him leads to:] Eternal Life.] |
And You [have promised this goodness to [me,] Your servant. Therefore, let it now please You to bless the house of Your servant, [so] that it may continue forever before You.For You, O Lord God, [have] spoken it, & with Your blessing, let the house of Your servant be blessed forever. |
And I heard, but [didn't understand.] Then, I said, O my Lord, What shall be the end of these things? And He said, Go [on] your way, Daniel: for the Words are closed up and sealed till the time of the End. Daniel 12:8-9 KJV

About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: Since the Lord had it on my heart to write this blog, I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:
Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible.
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV.
Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning.
For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.
The Table Format:
The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.
