The children [families & descendants] of Solomon's servants: of: the children [families & descendants] of: Sotai; the children [families & descendants] of: Sophereth, [a.k.a. These were [those who] went up from Telmelah, Teharsa, Cherub, Addan & Immer: but [these] couldn't [show proof of] their father's [family] & their [descendants & genealogy] whether they were of Israel. The children [families & descendants] of: Delaiah; the children [families & descendants] of: Tobiah; the children [families & descendants] of: Nekoda, 652. |
The children [families & descendants] of: the priests: the children [families & descendants] of: Habaiah, [a.k.a. Hobiah;] the children [families & descendants] of: Koz, [a.k.a. Hakkoz;] the children [families & descendants] of: Barzillai, the Gileadite, who took a wife from the daughters of Barzillai & was called [by] their name. These [searched for] their [family records] among those who were [registered] by genealogy, but weren’t found. Therefore, they were [like they were defiled & were excluded] from the priesthood. And the Tirshatha,[a.k.a. governor] said to them, that they shouldn't eat the Most Holy things, [until] a priest stood up with [the] Urim & Thummim. |
The whole congregation together [that returned] was 42,360. [In addition to] their 7,337 servants & maids. And among them were 200 [male & female singers & musicians.] [They had:] 736 horses, 245 mules, 435 camels & 6,720 [donkeys.] |
When they came to the house of the Lord in Jerusalem, some of the chief [leaders of the father's families, gave freewill offerings] to [rebuild God's] house in [its] place. They gave to the treasure [chest] for [for the workers, according to their abilities:] 61,000 drams of gold & 5,000 [pounds] of silver & 1,000 priest's garments. So, the priests, the Levites & some of the people, the singers [& musicians] & [gatekeepers] & the Nethinims, [lived] in their cities & all Israel in their cities. |
