The Vision About Tyre |
Isaiah 23:1-18 The Book of Isaiah [in Smaller Chunks] |
The burden, [a.k.a. vision] of Tyre. Howl, you ships of Tarshish. For it is laid [to] waste & so that there is no [harbor to enter into.] It is revealed to them, from the land of Chittim. [Ezekiel 28:5-8 By your great wisdom & your [traffic,] you have increased your riches & your heart is lifted up, because of your riches. |
Therefore, the Lord God says [this;] Because you have set your heart [like] the heart of God; Therefore, [watch,] I will bring strangers upon you, the [ruthless] of the nations & they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom & they shall defile your [intelligence.] |
They shall bring you down to the pit & you shall die, the deaths of [those who] are [killed] in the midst of the seas.] |
You inhabitants of the [coastal islands,] be still. You, whom have [been refilled by] the merchants of Zidon, [a.k.a. Sidon,] that pass over the sea. And by the [grain] of Sihor, the harvest of the river, is her [source of income] & she is a [market] of nations, by [the large] waters. |
O Zidon, be ashamed, for the sea has spoken, even the strength of the sea, saying, I [don't labor,] nor do [I deliver] children, neither do I [raise] up young men, nor bring up virgins. [Like] the report [about] Egypt, so shall they be [very distressed] at the report of Tyre. |
[Cross] over to Tarshish & howl, you [residents of the coastal islands.] Is this, your joyous city, whose antiquity is [from] ancient [times?] Her own feet shall carry her off to [stay.] |
[Isaiah 32:13-14 Upon the land of My people, thorns & briers shall come up. [Yes,] upon the house of joy in the joyous city,] because the palaces shall be [abandoned.] The multitude of the city shall be left. The forts & towers shall be for dens forever, a joy of wild [donkeys] & a pasture of flocks.] |
Who has [gotten advice] against Tyre, the crowning city, whose merchants are princes & whose [traders] are the honorable of the earth? The Lord of Hosts has [intended] it, to [blemish] the pride of all [its] glory & to bring all the honorable of the earth into [disgrace.] |
[Cross] through your land, [like] a river, O daughter of Tarshish: there is no more strength. He stretched out His hand over the sea & He shook the kingdoms. The Lord has given a [command] against the merchant city, to destroy [its] strongholds. |
[Zechariah 9:2-4 And Hamath also shall border [by] Tyrus & Zidon, though it [is] very wise. And Tyrus [built] herself a stronghold & heaped up silver [like] the dust & fine gold [like] the [mud] of the streets. [Watch,] the Lord will cast her out & He will [strike down] her power in the sea & she shall be devoured with fire.] |
And He said, You shall no [longer] rejoice, O you oppressed virgin, daughter of Zidon. Arise & [cross] over to Chittim. You shall also have no rest there. [See,] the land of the Chaldeans, [a.k.a. Babylonians,] this [wasn't] a people, [until] the Assyrian [established] it for [those who] dwell in the wilderness. |
They [put] up [its] towers & raised up [its] palaces & He brought it to ruin. Howl, you ships of Tarshish, for your strength is laid [to] waste. And it shall [happen on] that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten [for] 70 years, according to the [life] of one king. After the end of 70 years, Tyre shall sing like an [unfaithful] harlot. |
Take a harp & go [around] the city, you harlot that has been forgotten. Make sweet melody & sing many songs, [so] that you may be remembered. And it shall [happen] after the end of seventy years, that the Lord will visit Tyre & she shall [return] to her hire & she shall commit [adultery] with all the kingdoms on the [surface] of the earth. |
[Revelation 9:20-21 And the rest of the men, [who didn't repent] of the works of their hands, that they shouldn't worship [demons] & idols of gold; silver; brass; stone & of wood, [that] can neither see, nor hear, nor walk. Neither [did] they [repent] of their murders; sorceries, [adultery,] nor their thefts.] |
And her merchandise & her [wages] shall be [dedicated & holy] to the Lord, it shall not be treasured, nor [stored] up; for her merchandise shall be for [those who] dwell before the Lord, to eat sufficiently & for durable clothing. |
[Matthew 15:21-24 Then Jesus went [from there] & departed into the coasts of Tyre & Sidon. And [saw] a woman of Canaan, came out of the same coasts & cried [out] to Him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, You son of David. |
My daughter is grievously [troubled] by a [demon.] But He [didn't] answer her a word. And His disciples came & [urged] Him, saying, Send her away; for she cries [out] after us. But He answered & said, I am not sent, [only] to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.] |
