Syria & Israel are Going to War Against Judah |
Isaiah 7:1-25 The Book of Isaiah [in Smaller Chunks] |
And it [happened, during] the days of Ahaz, [Jotham's] son, [who was] the son of Uzziah, [Judah's] king, that Rezin, [Syria's] king & Pekah, [Remaliah's] son, [Israel's] king, went up toward Jerusalem to [battle] against it, but couldn't [gain victory over] it. |
And the house of David was told, Syria is [in alliance] with Ephraim. And And his heart & the heart of his people [trembled, like] the trees of the [forest] are [shaken] with the wind. |
Then, the Lord said to Isaiah, You & Shear Jashub, your son, go [out] now to meet Ahaz at the end of the [aqueduct] of the Upper Pool [on] the Highway of the [Launderer's] Field. And say to him, [Pay attention] & be quiet. |
[Don't] be [afraid or nervous of] these 2 smoking [branding irons, because of Rezin's] fierce anger with Syria & [Realiah's] son. Because Syria, Ephraim & [Remaliah's] son, have [plotted] evil [schemes] against you, saying, Let's go up against Judah & [trouble] it. And let's make a [gap in its walls] for us & [put] a king in the midst of it, even [Tabeal's] son. |
The Lord God said [this;] [Your plan] shall not stand & neither shall it [happen.] For the head of Syria is Damascus. And the head of Damascus is Rezin. And within 65 years, Ephraim shall be broken [up & no longer be] a people. |
And the head of Ephraim is Samaria & the head of Samaria is Remaliah's son. If you won't believe, surely you [won't] be established. [Additionally,] the Lord [spoke] to Ahaz again, saying, Ask the Lord your God [for] a sign [for] you. |
Ask it either in the depth or in the height above. But Ahaz said, I won't ask & neither will I [test] the Lord. And he said, You, O house of David, hear now: Is it a small thing for you to [exhaust] men, but will you [exhaust] my God also? |
*Therefore, the Lord, Himself, shall give you a sign. [Watch,] a virgin shall conceive & bear a Son & shall call His Name Emmanuel. He shall eat butter & honey, [so] that He may know to refuse the evil & choose the good. For before the Child shall know to refuse the evil & choose the good, the land that you [loathe] shall be [abandoned] of both her kings. |
[2 Kings 15:29-30 [During] the days of Pekah, [Israel's] king, Tiglath Pileser, [a.k.a. Pul, Assyria's] king, took [these regions:] Ijon & Abel Beth Maachah, Janoah, Kedesh Hazor, Gilead, Galilee & all the land of Naphtali & carried them captive to Assyria. And Hoshea, [Elah's] son, made a conspiracy against Pekah, [Remaliah's] son & [struck & killed] him & [ruled] in his [place] in the 20th year Jotham, [Uzziah's] son [ruled.] |
The Lord shall bring upon you & your people & your [forefather's] house, days that haven't come [yet,] from the day that Ephraim [left] from Judah, even the king of Assyria. |
[2 Kings 16:2-4 Ahaz was 20 years old when he began to [rule] & he [ruled] 16 years in Jerusalem & didn't [do what] was right in the sight of the Lord his God, like David, his [forefather did.] But he [followed] in the [path] of [Israel's] kings. |
[Yes] & made his son pass through the fire, according to the abomination of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from [in front of] the children [people] of Israel. And [Ahaz] sacrificed & burnt incense in the high places & on the hills & under every green tree.] |
And it shall [happen on] that day, that the Lord shall [whistle] for the fly, that is in the [highest] part of [Egypt's] rivers & for the bee that is in the land of Assyria. And they shall come & all of them shall rest in the desolate [& empty] valleys, the holes [in] the rocks & upon all thorns & all bushes. |
[On] the same day, the Lord shall shave the head & the hair of the [legs] with a razor of [those who are] hired, namely, [those] beyond the river, by [Assyria's] king. And [the razor] shall also consume the beard. |
[2 Kings 16:7-9 So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath Pileser, [Assyria's] king, saying, I am your servant & your son. Come up & save me out of the hand of [Syria's] king & [Israel's] king, [who] rise up against me. |
And Ahaz took the silver & gold that [were] found in the [Lord's] house & in the treasures of the king's house & sent it for a present to [Assyria's] king. And [Assyria's] king [listened] to him, for [Assyria's] king went up against Damascus & [captured] it & carried the people of it captive to Kir & [killed] Rezin.] |
And it shall [happen, on] that day, that a man shall [feed] a young cow & 2 sheep & it shall [happen from] the abundance of milk that they shall give, he shall eat butter. For butter & honey everyone shall eat [who are] left in the land. |
And it shall [happen, on] that day, that every place shall be, where [there used to be] 1,000 vines [bought for] 1,000 [shekels of silver.] It shall [now only] be for [sticker & thorn bushes.] |
Men shall come [there] with arrows & bows; because all the land shall become [sticker & thorn bushes.] And on all [the] hills, that shall be [dug] with [hoes] & [they] shall not come [there for] fear of the [sticker & thorn bushes,] but it shall be for sending [out] oxen & the [trampling of the younger livestock.] |
