About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible::

About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:

Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV. Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning. For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.

The Table Format:

The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.

2 Chronicles 36:1-23 The Lord God had Compassion on His People & Sent Prophets

The Lord God had Compassion on His People & Sent Prophets

2 Chronicles 36:1-23                       2 Chronicles in [Smaller Chunks]

Then, the people of the land took Jehoahaz, [Josiah's] son & made him king in his father's [place] in Jerusalem. Jehoahaz, was 23 years old when he began to [rule] & he [ruled] 3 months in Jerusalem.

[Egypt's] king [dethroned] Jehoahaz [in] Jerusalem & [imposed a levy] on Jerusalem of 100 talents of silver & 1 talent of gold. [Egypt's] king made Eliakim, his brother, king over Judah & Jerusalem and turned his name to Jehoiakim.

Necho took [Jehoiakim's] brother, Jehoahaz & carried him [off] to Egypt. Jehoiakim was 25 years old when he began to [rule] & he [ruled] 11 years in Jerusalem. He did [what] was evil in the sight of the Lord, his God.

[Jeremiah 21:9 Then, they shall answer, Because they have [abandoned] the Covenant [contract] of the Lord, their God & worshiped other gods & served them.] Nebuchadnezzar, [Babylon's] king, came against him & bound him in [shackles] to [take] him to Babylon.

Nebuchadnezzar also carried [off] the vessels [from the Lord's] house, to Babylon. Now, the rest of [Jehoiakim's actions] & his abominations [that] he did, [look,] they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel & Judah & Jehoiachin, his son [ruled] in his [place.]

Jehoiachin was 8 years old when he began to [rule] & he [ruled] 3 months & 10 days in Jerusalem: & he did [wht] was evil in the sight of the Lord.

And when the year was [over,] king Nebuchadnezzar sent [for] & brought [Jehoiachin] to Babylon, with the [beautiful] vessels [from the Lord's] house & made Zedekiah, his brother, king over Judah & Jerusalem.

Zedekiah was 21 years old when he began to [rule] & he [ruled] 11 years in Jerusalem. He did [what] was evil in the sight of the Lord, his God & [he didn't] humble himself before Jeremiah, the prophet, [who spoke by] the mouth of the Lord.

[Zedekiah] also rebelled against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God. But he stiffened his neck [in stubbornness] & hardened his heart from turning to the Lord God of Israel.

[Also,] all the chief priests & the people [sinned] very much after all the abominations of the heathen & polluted [defiled] the [Lord's] house, which He had [consecrated] in Jerusalem.

The Lord God of their [forefathers] had compassion on His people & on His dwelling place & sent them His messengers, rising up early, but they mocked the messengers of God & despised His words & [mistreated] His prophets, until the [anger] of the Lord [rose] against His people until there was no remedy.

[Matthew 23:34 [Because of this, I sent to you prophets, wise men & scribes & some of them you shall kill & crucify. And some of them you shall [whip] in your synagogues & persecute them from city to city.]

Therefore, [God] brought upon them the king of the [Caldeans, a.k.a. Babylonians,] who [killed] their young men with swords in their sanctuary & had no compassion on young men & women or old, [even those who] stooped [with] age. [God] gave them all into his hand.

All the vessels & treasures [large] & small of the house of the Lord God & the [king's & prince's] treasures, he brought to Babylon. And they burnt the house of God & [broke] down the [walls] of Jerusalem & burnt [its] palaces with fire. They destroyed all [its impressive] vessels.

[Those who] escaped from the sword, [the king] carried away to Babylon, where they were his & his son’s servants until the reign of the kingdom of Persia, to fulfill the [Lord’s] word, by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her Sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate [fallow,] she kept [its] Sabbaths, to fulfill 70 years.

Now, in the 1st year of Cyrus, [Persia’s] king, [to fulfill] the word of the Lord, spoken by Jeremiah. The Lord [moved] the spirit of Cyrus, [Persia’s] king, [so] that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom & also put it in writing.

[It said,] King Cyrus of Persia [says this,] The Lord God of heaven [has] given me, all the kingdoms of the earth. He has [appointed me in charge of building] Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Among all of you, who is of [the Lord God’s] people? [May] the Lord God be with him & let him go up.

[Ezra 1:3 Who is there among you of all His people? [May] his God be with him & let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah & build the house of the Lord God of Israel, (He is the God,) [Who] is in Jerusalem.]

2 Chronicles 35:1-27 King Josiah Holds a Passover

King Josiah Holds a Passover

2 Chronicles 35:1-27                       2 Chronicles in [Smaller Chunks]

[Also, king] Josiah kept a Passover to the Lord [God] in Jerusalem. They killed the Passover [animals] on the 14th day of the 1st month. [Josaiah appointed] the priests [with] their [duties] & encouraged them [in] their service of the [Lord's] house.

[Josaiah] said to the Levites, [who] were holy to the Lord & [taught] all [of] Israel, Put the Holy Ark in the [Lord's] house [that] Solomon, [David's] son, [Israel's] king, built. [The Holy Ark] shall [no longer] be a burden [you carry] on your shoulders.

Now, serve the Lord, your God & His people, Israel. [Organize] yourselves by your [father's families] & your [divisions,] according to [what] David, [Israel's] king, & Solomon, his son, [wrote.]

Stand in the Holy Place according to the divisions of the fathers of your [relatives of] the people & [like] the [Levite's family] divisions. So, kill the Passover [animals] & sanctify yourselves & prepare your brethren, [so] they may do according to the Word of the Lord by Moses' hand.

Josiah gave 3,000 bulls & 30,000 lambs & [kid goats] for the Passover offerings, from the king's [possessions for] the people [there.]

[Josiah's] princes willingly gave 2,600 small [livestock] & 300 oxen to the priests, the people & the Levites: Hilkiah, Zechariah & Jehiel, [officials] of [God's] house & gave the [livestock] to the priests of the Passover offerings.

Also, Conaniah [a.k.a. Konaniah] & his brethren, Shemaiah & Nethaneel [a.k.a. Nethanel] & [the leaders] of the Levites: Hashabiah, Jeiel & Jozabad. [They] gave to the Levites for the Passover offerings 5,000 small [livestock] & 500 oxen.

So, the service was prepared & the priests stood in their place & the Levites in their [divisions,] according to the king's [command.] They killed the Passover [animals with their hands] & sprinkled the blood from their hands & the Levites fileted them.

They removed the burnt offerings, [so] they might give [it] according to the divisions of the people's families, to offer to the Lord, as it is written in the Book of Moses. They did [the same] with the oxen.

They roasted the Passover [animals] with fire according to the ordinance, but the other holy offerings they [boiled] in pots, caldrons & in pans & speedily divided them among all the people.

Afterward, they [prepared food] for themselves & the priests, because the priests, [Aaron's descendants,] were [busy with] offering the burnt offerings & fat until night.

[That's why,] the Levites prepared [food] for themselves & the priests, the [descendants] of Aaron. The singers, [Asaph's] sons, were in their place, according to [David's command.]

Asaph, Heman & Jeduthun, the king's seer [prophet with divine visions] & the [gate keepers] waited at every gate. The Levites, their brethren, prepared [food] for them, [so] they [didn't leave ] their [responsibility.]

According to [Josiah's command,] all the service of the Lord was prepared the same day, to keep the Passover & to offer the burnt offerings on the altar of the Lord. And the children [people] of Israel [who were there] at that time, kept the Passover & the Feast of Unleavened Bread [for] 7 days.

From the days of Samuel, the prophet, there [wasn't any] Passover like this kept in Israel. Neither did [any of] the kings of Israel keep such a Passover as Josaiah kept. The priests, Levites, & all Judah, Israel & [Jerusalem's] inhabitants were present.

The Passover was kept in the 18th year Josiah [ruled.] After all this, when Josaiah prepared the [Lord's] temple, Necho, [Egypt's] king, came up to fight against Charchemish [near the] Euphrates [River.]

Josaiah went out against him, but [Necho] sent ambassadors to [Josiah,] saying, King of Judah, what [quarrel is there between you & me?] I [didn't] come against you this day, but against the house I have war [with:] for God commanded me to hurry.

[Stop your] meddling with God, Who is with me, [so] He doesn't destroy you. [Still] Josaiah [wouldn't] turn [away] from him, but disguised himself, [so] he might fight with [Necho] & [didn't pay attention] to the words of Necho, [had given to him] from the mouth of God.

And [Josiah] came to fight in the Valley of Megiddo. The archers shot Josaiah & king [Josaiah] said to his servants, [Take me away; for I am [severely] wounded. His servants took [Josiah] out of that chariot & put him in a 2nd chariot that he had.

And they brought [Josiah] to Jerusalem & he died & was buried in one of the [tombs] of his [forefathers.] And all Judah & Jerusalem mourned for Josaiah. Jeremiah [grieved] for Josiah & the [male & female singers speak] of Josiah, [as they lament] until this day.

[They] made them [a rule] in Israel & [look] they are written in the Lamentations. Now, the rest of [Josaiah's actions] & all his goodness, according to [what] was written in the Law of the Lord & [Josaiah's] deeds, 1st & last, [look,] they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel & Judah.

2 Chronicles 34:1-33 Young King Josiah Removes the Idols & the Places They Were Worshiped

Young King Josiah Removes the Idols & the Places They Were Worshiped

2 Chronicles 34:1-33                    2 Chronicles in [Smaller Chunks]

Josiah was 8 years old when he began to [rule] & he [ruled] in Jerusalem 31 years. [Josiah] did [what] was right in the sight of the Lord [God] & [followed] in the ways of David, his [forefather.] He [didn’t turn aside] to the right hand, nor to the left.

While he was [still] young, in the 8th year he [ruled, Josaiah] began to seek the [Lord] God of David, his [forefather.] In the 12th year, [Josiah] began to get rid of the high places, groves, carved images & [molded] images from Judah & Jerusalem.]

[2 Kings 21:21-22 And [Manasseh] [Josiah's father] walked in all the [ways] of his father [followed] in & served the idols, that his father served & worshiped them: and he [abandoned] the Lord God of his [forefathers] & didn’t [follow] in the way of the the Lord.]

And they [broke] down the altars of Baalim, the images high above them, & he cut down the groves & the carved images & [molded] images in [Josiah’s] presence & he [broke] them into pieces, [like] dust & [sprinkled] it upon the graves of [those who] sacrificed to them.

[Josiah] burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars & cleansed Judah & Jerusalem. [Josaiah] did [the same] in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, Simeon & even Naphtali, with their [tools with picks & blades, around them.]

When [Josiah] had broken down the altars & the groves & had beaten the [engraved] images into powder & cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, [Josaiah] returned to Jerusalem.

Now, in the 18th year [Josiah ruled,] when he had purged the land & the [Lord’s] house, [Josaiah] sent Shaphan, [Azaliah’s] son; Maaseiah, the [city’s ruler;] Joah, [Joahaz’] son, the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord, his God.

And when they came to Hilkiah, the high priest & delivered the money brought into the house of God, [that] the Levites, [who] kept the doors had gathered [from] the [hands] of the [tribes of:] Manasseh, Ephraim & all the [remaining] of Israel & all Judah, Benjamin. And they returned to Jerusalem.

And they put [the money into] the [hands] of the workmen [who] had oversight of the house of the Lord [God.] They gave [the money] to the workmen [who worked] in the [Lord’s] house, to repair & [restore] the house.

[They also gave money to the carpenters] & builders to buy [cut] stone & [lumber] for [the beams] & to floor the [buildings that] the kings of Judah had destroyed.

And the men [worked] faithfully [under the supervision] of Jahath & Obadiah, the Levites, of the [descendants] of: Merari, Zechariah & Meshullam & of the [descendants] of Kohathites, [to move the work] forward & other Levites, all [who were skillful with musical] instruments.

They were also [in charge of those who carried] burdens & [supervised those who did] the work in any [type] of service & there were scribes, officers & [door keepers] of the Levites.

And when they brought out the money that [had been] brought into the [Lord’s] house, Hilkiah, the priest, found [the] Book of the Law of the Lord, given by Moses.

Hilkiah said to Shaphan, the scribe, I have found the Book of the Law in the [Lord’s] house. And Hilkiah [gave] the book to Shaphan & Shaphan carried the book to king [Josaiah] & [brought] back word again, saying, Your [officials are doing] all [that] was [appointed] to them [to do.]

They have gathered the money that was found in the house of the Lord together & delivered it into the [hands of those who have oversight & into the hands] of the workmen.

Then, Shaphan, the scribe told king [Josiah,] saying, Hilkiah, the priest, has given me a book. Shaphan read it [in front of] king [Josaiah.]  It [happened] when the king heard the words of the Law, he [tore] his clothes.

King [Josiah] commanded Hilkiah; Ahikam, [Shaphan's] son; Abdon, [Micah's] son;  Shaphan, the scribe & Asaiah, the [king's] servant, saying, Go [inquire] of the Lord for me & for [those who] are left in Israel & Judah, [about] the words of the book that is found.

For great is the [anger] of the Lord that is poured out upon us, because our [forefathers haven't] kept the Word of the Lord, to do all that is written in this book.

Hilkiah & [those] the king appointed, went to Huldah, the prophetess, the wife of Shallum, [who was] the son of Tikvath. [Tikvath was the] son of Hasrah, the keeper of the wardrobe. (Now, [Huldah lived] in Jerusalem in the college:) & they [spoke] to her [about what Josiah wanted her to know.]

She answered them, The Lord God of Israel [says this,] Tell the man [who] sent you to me, The Lord God [said, Watch,] I will bring [destruction] on this place & upon [its] inhabitants, even all the curses that are written in the book [that] they have read before the king of Judah:

Because they have [abandoned] Me & have burnt incense to other gods, that they may provoke Me to anger with all the works [made] of their hands. Therefore, My [anger] shall be poured out upon this place & shall not be quenched.

[Jeremiah 21:9 Then, they shall answer, Because they have [abandoned] the Covenant [contract] of the Lord, their God & worshiped other gods & served them.]

You shall say to the king [who] sent you to [inquire] of the Lord, the Lord God of Israel says [this about] the words you have heard; Because your heart was tender & you [humbled] yourself before God, when you heard His words against this place & [its] inhabitants,

and [humbled] yourself before Me & [tore] your clothes & [wept] before Me, I have even heard you also [said,] the Lord.  [Look,] I will gather you to join your [forefathers] to the grave in peace.

Neither shall your eyes see all the [destruction] I will bring upon this place & [its] inhabitants. So, they brought [this] word to king [Josaiah.] King [Josaiah,] sent [for] & gathered all the elders of Judah & Jerusalem together.

King [Josaiah] & all the men of Judah & the inhabitants of Jerusalem & the priests & Levites & all the people [powerful & powerless] went up into the [Lord's] house.

He read in their ears all the words of the Book of the Covenant [contract] that was found in the [Lord's] house. And the king stood in his place & made a covenant [contract] before the Lord,

and to [follow] after the Lord & to keep His commandments, His testimonies, & His [rules] with all his heart & with all his soul & to perform the words of the covenant [that] are written in this book.

And [king Josaiah] caused all [who] were present [from] Jerusalem & Benjamin [to take a stand.] All [Jerusalem's] inhabitants did according to the Covenant of God, the God of their [forefathers.]

And Josaiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children [people] of Israel & made all [who] were present in Israel to serve the Lord their God. And all [Josiah's] days, they [didn't] depart from following the Lord, the God of their [forefathers.]

2 Chronicles 33:1-25 After Much Wickedness, Manasseh Humbles His Heart Before God

After Much Wickedness, Manasseh Humbles His Heart Before God

2 Chronicles 33:1-25                    2 Chronicles in [Smaller Chunks]

Manasseh, [Hezekiah’s son,] was 12 years old when he began to [rule & he ruled] 55 years in Jerusalem. [Manasseh did what] was evil in the sight of the Lord, like the heathen, [whom] the Lord had cast out before the children [people] of Israel.

For he [rebuilt] the high places again [that] Hezekiah, his father, had broken down & he [put] up altars for Baalim & made groves & worshiped all the [stars & constellations] of heaven & served them.

Also, he built altars in the [Lord’s] house, [where] the Lord had said, My Name shall be [here] in Jerusalem forever. And [Manasseh] built altars for all the [stars & constellations] of heaven in the 2 [courtyards] of the Lord’s] house.

And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom. He also observed times [astrology & horoscopes] & used enchantments [casting spells] & used witchcraft & dealt with familiar spirits [those who contact the dead] & with wizards.

He [did] much evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke Him to anger. And he [put] a carved image, the idol [that] he had made, in the house of God, of which [the Lord] God had said to David & to Solomon, his son, In this house in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel & I will put My Name [here] forever.

Neither will I remove the foot of Israel from out of the land anymore, [that] I appointed for your [forefathers,] so that they will [pay attention] to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law & the statutes & the [rules at] the hand of Moses.

So, Manasseh made Judah & the inhabitants of Jerusalem [to go astray] & to do worse than the heathen, whom the Lord destroyed before the [people] of Israel. The Lord [spoke] to Manasseh & to his people, but they [wouldn’t listen & obey.] [Therefore,] the Lord brought captains of [Assyria’s king’s army] upon them.

[They] took Manasseh [prisoner & put a hook in his nose] & bound him with [iron shackles] & carried him [captive] to Babylon. When [Manasseh] was [distressed,] he [turned to] the Lord his God & humbled himself greatly before the God of his [forefathers] & prayed to Him.

[The Lord] was [moved by Manasseh’s earnest request] & brought [Manasseh back] to Jerusalem, into his kingdom. Then, Manasseh knew the Lord was God. After this, [Manasseh] built a wall [outside] the city of David. [The wall was] on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, [up] to the [entrance of] the Fish Gate & [surrounded] Ophel & raised [the wall] up [to] a great height.

[Manasseh] put captains of war in all the fenced cities of Judah. [Manasseh] took away the strange gods & the idol out of the [Lord’s] house & all the altars that he had built in the [mountain] of the [Lord’s] house & [threw] them out of the city.

[Manasseh] repaired the altar of the Lord & sacrificed peace offerings & thank offerings [on it] & commanded Judah to serve the Lord God of Israel. [But] the people still sacrificed in the high places, [but] only to the Lord, their God.

Now, the rest of [Manasseh’s actions] & his prayer to [the Lord,] his God & the words the seers [prophets who have divine visions] [spoke] to him in the Name of the Lord God of Israel, are written in the Book of [the] Kings of Israel.

Also, [Manasseh’s] prayer & how God [was moved by his earnest plea about] all his [tresspasses] & [sins] in [building] the high places & [putting] up groves & [engraved] images, before he was humbled [are also] written among  the [records] of the seers.

So, Manasseh [died] & slept with his [forefathers.] They buried him in his own house & his son, Amon [ruled] in his place. Amon was 22 years old when he began to [rule] & he [ruled] 2 years in Jerusalem. [Amon] did [what] was evil in the sight of the Lord, [like] his father, Manasseh did.

Amon sacrificed to all the carved images, [that] his father, Manasseh had made & served them. [He didn’t] humble himself before the Lord [God,] as Manasseh, his father had humbled himself. But Amon [sinned] more & more.

[Amon’s] servants conspired against him & [killed] him in his own house. But the people of the land [killed] all [those who] had conspired against king Amon. The people of the land made his son, Josiah, king in his [place.]

2 Chronicles 32:1-33 Hezekiah Prepares to Defend Judah Against Assyria

Hezekiah Prepares to Defend Judah Against Assyria

2 Chronicles 32:1-33                     2 Chronicles in [Smaller Chunks]

After [these things were] established, Sennacherib, [Assyria’s] king, came & [invaded] Judah & [set camp near] the fenced cities & [planned] to [conquer] them for himself.

When Hezekiah saw Sennacherib was [there] & that he [planned] to fight against Jerusalem, [Hezekiah consulted] with his [officials] & his mighty men to stop [the flow of] the water of the [springs outside] the city & they helped him.

[Many] people gathered together to [stop] all the [springs] & the brook that ran through the [middle] of the land. [They said,] Why should [Assyria’s] kings come & find [so] much water?

Also, [Hezekiah worked hard & rebuilt] the walls that were broken & raised up [towers on the wall] & another wall [outside] & repaired Milo, in the city of David & made [an] abundance of [spears] & shields.

And [Hezekiah appointed military officers] over the people & gathered them to him & [spoke kindly] to them in the [entrance gate’s street] of the city, saying, [Don’t be] afraid or [worried, because] of [Assyria’s] king & all the multitude with him. There are more [of] us, than [are] with him.

With [Assyria's] king is an arm of flesh, but with us, the Lord our God is with us to help us, to fight our battles. The people [calmed down after] the words of Hezekiah, [Judah’s] king.

Sennacherib, [Assyria’s] king, [sent] his servants to Hezekiah, in Jerusalem, [which he & his forces planned the attack] against Lachish. [His servants said,] Sennacherib, [Assyria’s] king, [says,] Who do you trust, that you [stay] in Jerusalem [when there’s an attack?]

[Does] Hezekiah persuade you to die [of starvation] & thirst, saying, The Lord, our God, shall deliver us out [of Assyria’s king’s] hand? [Hasn’t this] same Hezekiah taken away [the] high places & altars & has commanded Judah & Jerusalem, saying, You shall worship before one altar & burn incense upon it?

[Don’t] you know what my father & I have done to all the people of other lands? Were the gods of those lands & nations able to deliver their lands out of [my] hands?

[What] god among [all] those nations that my father [totally] destroyed [was able] to deliver his people out of my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of [my] hand?

Therefore, [don’t] let Hezekiah deceive you [or] persuade you on this [matter.] [Don’t] believe him, [because if] no god of any nation [or] kingdom was able to deliver his people, out of my hand or the land of my [forefathers,] how [can] your God deliver you out of my hand?

[Sennacherib’s] servants [still] said more & wrote letters against the Lord God & against Hezekiah, [God’s] servant, saying, [Since] the gods of other nations & lands [haven’t] delivered their people out of my hand, the God of Hezekiah shall not [be able to] deliver his people out of my hand.

Then, they cried [out loudly] in the Jew’s [language] to the people on the wall of Jerusalem to [frighten & worry] them, [so] that they might [capture] the city. They spoke against the God of Jerusalem [like they did] against the gods of the people of the earth, which were the work of [men’s] hands.

[Psalm 96:5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.] And for this [reason] Hezekiah, the king & Isaiah, the prophet, [Amoz’] son, prayed & cried [out] to heaven.

The Lord sent an angel, [who] cut off all of [Assyria’s] mighty men of valor, the leaders & captains in the camp of [Assyria’s] king. So, [Sennacerib] returned with shame to his own land.

When he came into the house of his god, [those in his own family struck him down] there, with a sword. The Lord saved Hezekiah & the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib, [Assyria’s] king & from all [others & God] guided them on every side.

Many brought gifts to the Lord to Jerusalem & presents to Hezekiah, [Judah’s] king, so he was [highly regarded] in the sight of all the nations from [then on.] [When] Hezekiah was sick, [near] death & prayed to the Lord, [God spoke] to him & gave him a [miraculous] sign.

But [Hezekian’s] heart was lifted up [in pride & didn’t show God respect for all God had] done [for] him. Therefore, [God’s anger] was upon him & Judah & Jerusalem.

[Then,] Hezekiah humbled his [prideful] heart & the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [as well,] so that the [Lord’s anger didn’t] come upon them [during Hezekiah’s life.]

Hezekiah had honor & was [exceedingly] rich & made himself treasuries for: silver, gold, precious stones, spices, shields & all [types] of [precious] jewels. [Hezekiah] also [made] store houses for the [extra grain,] wine & oil, and stalls for all [types of livestock & pens] for flocks.]

[Also, Hezekiah] provided himself cities & an abundance of flocks & herds, [since] God had given him [lots of property.] Hezekiah also stopped the upper water [outlet] of Gihon & brought [the water] straight down to the west [side] of the city of David.

Hezekiah, prospered in all [he did.] [But] in the [matter when] the ambassadors of [Babylon’s rulers] came to [Hezekiah] to [ask about] the [miraculous] wonder done in the land, God left [Hezekiah,] to [test] him, to know what was in his heart.

Now, the rest of [Hezekiah’s actions] & all his goodness, are written in the vision of the prophet, Isaiah, [Amoz’] son, & the Book of Kings of Judah & Israel.

Hezekiah [died] & slept with his [forefathers] & they buried him in the [best tombs] of [David’s] sons. All Judah & the inhabitants of Jerusalem honored [Hezekiah] at his death. His son, Manasseh [ruled] in [Hezekiah’s place.]
