About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:

Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV. Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning. For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.

The Table Format:

The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.

1 Samuel 6:1-21 Returning the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord God

Returning the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord God

1 Samuel 6:1-21                The Book of 1 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

The Ark of the Lord was in the country of the Philistines 7 months & they called for the priests & the diviners, saying, What shall we do [with] the Ark of the Lord? Tell us [what] we shall [do to] send it [back] to [its] place?

[1 Samuel 5:6-7 But the hand of the Lord was heavy upon [those] of Ashdod & He destroyed them & [struck] them with [tumors,] even Ashdod & [its coastal territory.] And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The Ark of the God of Israel shall not [stay] with us. For His hand is [heavy] upon us & upon Dagon, our god.]

They said, If you send away the Ark of the God of Israel, [don’t] send it empty, but return [to] Him a [sin] offering. Then, you shall be healed & it shall be known to you why [God’s] hand isn’t removed from you.

They said, What shall our [sin] offering be, [that] we shall return to Him? They answered, 5 golden [tumors] & 5 golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines, for 1 plague of [tumors] was on all [of] you & your lords.

[For this reason,] you shall make [golden] images of your [tumors] & mice that [harm] the land & shall give glory to the God of Israel, [so perhaps,] He [might] lighten His hand from off [of] you & from off your gods & your land.

[Why] then do you harden your [stubborn] hearts, [like] the Egyptians & Pharaoh hardened their hearts? [Even] when [the Lord God] had [done wonderful miracles] among [the Egyptians] & didn’t they [still] let [the Israelites] go & they departed?

Therefore, now make a new cart & take 2 [milk cows that have never been yoked] & tie the [cows] to the cart & [take] their calves home from them. [Put] the Ark of the Lord on the cart & [beside it a chest] with the gold [objects] you [send] to Him as a [sin] offering & send it away, [so] it may go.

See if it goes up by the [road of God’s] Own coast to Beth Shemesh, then [you will know] if [the Lord God] has this great evil [to] us. But if [the cows don’t go that way,] we’ll know it [wasn’t God’s] hand that [struck us with tumors] & it happened to us [by] chance.

The men did so & tied the 2 [milk cows] to the cart  & shut up their calves at home. And they [put] the Ark of the Lord on the cart & the [chest] with the images of their mice & [tumors] of gold on the cart.

The [cows] took the cart straight to the [road] of Beth Shemesh & went along the highway [mooing] as they went & [didn’t turn] aside to the right hand or to the left. The Philistine lords [followed] after them to the border of Beth Shemesh.

[Those of] Beth Shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley & they lifted up their eyes & saw the Ark & rejoiced to see it. The cart came into the field of Joshua, a Beth Shemite, & stood there [where] there was a [large rock.]

They [cut] the wood [from] the cart & offered the [cows as] a burnt offering to the Lord. The Levites took down the Ark of the Lord & the [chest] that was with it [that had the gold images] were & [they] put them on the [large rock.]

And the men of Beth Shemesh offered burnt offerings & sacrifices to the Lord the same day. When the 5 Philistine lords [saw this,] they returned to Ekron the same day.

These are the golden [tumors] the Philistines returned as a [sin] offering to the Lord: 1 for Ashdod, 1 for. Gaza, 1 for Askelon [a.k.a. Ashkelon,] 1 for Gath & 1 for Ekron.

The golden mice were according to the number of the Philistine cities, both fenced & country villages that [belonged] to the 5 lords, even [as far as] the large rock] of Abel, [where] they [put] down the Ark of the Lord.

The [large rock] remains to this day in the field of Joshua, the Beth Shemite. [The Lord God killed] the men of Beth Shemesh [who] looked into the Ark of the Lord & [killed] 50,070 men.

The people [of Beth Shemesh mourned,] because the Lord had [killed] many of the people with a [large] slaughter. The men of Beth Shemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God? To whom shall [the Lord God] go up from us?

They sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjath Jearim, saying, The Philistines have [returned] the Ark of the Lord. Come down & take it up to you.

1 Samuel 5:1-12 Putting the Ark of the Lord God by Their idol

Putting the Ark of the Lord God by Their idol

1 Samuel 5:1-12                The Book of 1 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

The Philistines took the Ark of God & bought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod. [They put] the Ark of God into the house of Dagon & set it by Dagon. [Exodus 23:24 You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but you shall [totally] overthrow them & [totally] break down their images.]

When [those] of Ashdod arose early the [next day, they saw] Dagon [had] fallen upon [its] face to the [ground] before the Ark of the Lord. They took Dagon & set [it back in its] place again.

When they rose early the [next] morning, [they saw,] Dagon [had] fallen to the ground before the Ark of the Lord & the head & both the palms of [its] hands of Dagon were cut off & [were lying] upon the threshold.

Only the [torso] of Dagon was left. Therefore, neither the priests nor anyone [who comes] into Dagon’s house, [will walk] on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod to this day.

But the hand of the Lord was heavy on [those] of Ashdod & He destroyed them & [struck] them with [tumors] & even [from] Ashdod to [their surrounding] coasts.

When the men of Ashdod saw it was so, they said, The Ark of the God of Israel shall not [stay] with us, for His hand is [heavy] upon us & upon Dagon, our god.

Therefore, they gathered the Philistine lords & said to them, What shall we do with the Ark of the God of Israel? They answered, Let the Ark of God be carried to Gath & they carried the Ark of the God of Israel [there.]

[Afterwards] the hand of the Lord was against the city [of Gath] with a [large amount of] destruction & He [struck] the men of the city, both [powerless & powerful] with [tumors] in their [private places.]

Therefore, they sent the Ark of God to Ekron & when the Ark of God came to Enron, the Ekronites cried out saying, They have brought the Ark of the God of Israel to us, to [kill] us & our people.

So, they gathered together all the lords of the Philistines & said, Send away the Ark of the God of Israel & let it go to [its] own place again, [so] it [doesn’t kill] us & our people: for there was deadly destruction throughout the city.

The hand of [the Lord] God was heavy there. The men [who hadn’t] died, were [struck] with [tumors] & the cry of the city went up to heaven.

1 Samuel 4:1-22 Moving the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord God

Moving the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord God

1 Samuel 4:1-22                The Book of 1 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

The word of Samuel came to all [of] Israel. Now, Israel went out to battle against the Philistines & pitched [their tents, net to] Ebenezer & the Philistines pitched [tents] in Aphek.

The Philistines put themselves in [battle order] against Israel & when they joined [the] battle, Israel was [defeated] before the Philistines [who killed] 4,000 men of the army in the field.

When the [Israelite] people came into the camp, the elders of Israel said, [Why has] the Lord [allowed us to be defeated] before the Philistines today? [Let’s get] the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord [from] Shiloh & [bring it] to us, [so] when [it’s] among us, it may save us from the hand of our enemies.

So, the people sent to Shiloh, [so] they might bring the Ark of the Covenant [contract] of the Lord of Hosts, [Who] dwells between the cherubim.

[1 Kings 8:6-7 And the priests brought in the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord to [its] place, into the [sanctuary] of the [tabernacle,] to the Most Holy Place, even under the wings of the [2 cherubim,] [statues.] For the cherubims spread [out] their 2 wings over the place of the Ark & the cherubims covered the Ark & the [its poles] above [it.

And [Eli’s] 2 sons: Hophni & Phinehas were there with the Ark of the Covenant of God. When the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel shouted [loudly,] so that the earth [echoed] again.

When the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, What does this [loud] shout in the camp of the Hebrews [mean?] They understood that the Ark of the Lord had come into the camp & the Philistines were afraid & said, God [has] come into the camp. Woe to us! For [nothing like this has happened before.]

Woe to us! Who shall deliver us out of the hand of these mighty Gods? These are the Gods [Who attacked] the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness. Be strong & [conduct] yourselves like men, O you Philistines, [so] you [don’t become] the servants to the Hebrews, [like] they have been to you.

The Philistines fought & Israel was [defeated by a large] slaughter of 30,000 footmen & the [rest] fled to [their tents.] The Ark of God was taken & Eli’s 2 sons: Hophni & Phinehas, were [killed.]

A man [of the tribe] of Benjamin ran [from] the army to Shiloh the same day & [tore] his clothes, with [dirt] upon his head [signs of mourning.] Eli sat by the [roadside] watching, [since] his heart trembled [with worry] for the Ark of God.

When the man came into the city & told [them,] all the city cried out. When Eli heard the noise of the crying, he said, What does this noise mean? The man came [quickly] to Eli & told [him.]

Now, Eli was 98 years old & his eyes were [so ]dim he couldn’t see [well.] The man told Eli that he fled out of the army today. [Eli asked,] What has [happened,] my son?

The messenger answered, Israel [has] fled [from the] Philistines & there’s also been a [large] slaughter among the [Israelites] & your 2 sons: Hophni & Phinehas, are also dead & the Ark of God is taken.

It [happened] when [he mentioned] the Ark of God, [Eli] fell backward off [his] seat by the side of the gate, [broke] his neck & died: for he was an old man & heavy. [Eli] had judged Israel for 40 years.

[Eli’s] daughter-in-law, Phinehas’ wife, [was about to deliver her child.] When she heard the Ark of God was taken & her father-in-law & husband were [both] dead, she bowed herself [with heavy labor] pains & [gave birth.]

And about the time of her death, the women [who] stood by her said to her, [Don’t] fear, for you have [delivered] a son. But she [didn’t] answer [or pay attention to] it.

She named the child Ichabod, saying, The glory [has] departed from Israel: because the Ark of God was taken & because of [the death] of her father-in-law & husband. She said, The glory [has] departed from Israel: for the Ark of God is taken.

1 Samuel 3:1-21 The Lord Calls Samuel in the Night

The Lord Calls Samuel in the Night

1 Samuel 3:1-21                         The Book of 1 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

[As a] child, Samuel, ministered to the Lord before Eli. The Word of the Lord was precious in those days & [visions were rare.]

It [happened,] when Eli laid down in his place [where he slept] & his eyes [had become weak & he could barely] see [if] the lamp of the Lord went out in the temple of the Lord, where the Ark of God was. [So,] Samuel [lay] down to sleep [there.]

The Lord called Samuel & he answered, Here I am & ran to Eli & said Here am I, for you called me. [Eli] said, I [didn’t] call [you.] Lie down again & [Samuel] went & lay down.

And the Lord called again, Samuel. And Samuel arose & went to Eli & said, Here am I: for you [called] me. [Eli] answered, I [didn’t] call [you, my son. Lie [back] down again. Samuel didn’t know the Lord yet & neither was the Word of the Lord revealed to him, yet.

The Lord called Samuel again the 3rd time & he arose & went to Eli & said, Here I am; for you called me. Eli [realized] that the Lord had called the child.

Therefore, Eli said to Samuel, Go lie down & if He [calls] you, you [shall] say, Speak Lord; for Your servant hears. Samuel went & lay [back] down in his place. The Lord came & stood & called [like the] other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then, Samuel answered, Speak; for Your servant hears.

The Lord said to Samuel, [Watch,] I will do [something] in Israel that will make the ears of [those who hear of it] tingle. [On] that day, I will [do] all the things against Eli [that] I have [said about] his [family.] When I begin, I will also make an end [to it.]

For I have told him that I will judge his [family] forever for the [sins that he knows about,] because his sons [behaved wickedly] & [Eli hasn’t] restrained them.

Therefore, I have sworn to the house of Eli, that the [sins] of Eli’s [family] shall not be [atoned for by] sacrifice nor [offerings] forever.

And Samuel lay [down] until morning & opened the doors of the house of the Lord. Samuel was [afraid] to [tell] Eli the vision. Then, Eli called Samuel & said, Samuel, my son. He answered, Here I am.

Eli said, What [did] the Lord [say] to you? I pray [that] you don’t hide it from me. If you hide anything [the Lord] said [from] me. God will do to you, [that] & more also, if you hide anything from me, of all the things He said to you. Samuel told [Eli everything] & [didn’t hide anything] from him. [Eli] said, It is the Lord. Let Him do what seems good [to] Him.

And Samuel grew & the Lord was with him & [he didn’t ignore] any of [God’s] words. All [of] Israel from Dan, even to BeerSheba knew that Samuel was [chosen] to be a prophet of the Lord.

The Lord appeared again in Shiloh. For the Lord revealed Himself to Samuel [through the Lord’s] Word in Shiloh.

1 Samuel 2:1-36 Hannah Lends Her Son, Samuel, to the Lord to Serve Him

Hannah Lends Her Son, Samuel, to the Lord to Serve Him

1 Samuel 2:1-36                The Book of 1 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

Hannah prayed & said, My heart [rejoices] & my horn is exalted in the Lord. My mouth [smiles] over my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation. There [are] none as holy as the Lord: for there is no [other God] beside You.

Neither is there any rock like our God. Don’t boast & let arrogant [words] come out of your mouth. For the Lord is a God of knowledge & actions are weighed by Him.

The bows of the mighty [archers] are broken & [those who] stumbled are [clothed] with strength. [Those who] were full, have [now] hired out themselves for bread & [those who] were hungry [stopped being hungry.]

So, the [childless has bore] 7 & she [who] had many children has [grown] feeble. The Lord kills & makes alive. He brings down to the grave & [raises] up. The Lord makes [the] poor & makes [the] rich. He brings low & [lifts] up.

He raises the poor out of the dust & the beggar from the [garbage pile,] to set them among princes & to make them inherit the throne of glory. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s & He has [put] the world upon them.

He will keep the feet of His saints & the wicked shall keep silent in darkness; for by strength no man shall prevail. The Lord’s [enemies] will be broken to pieces & out of heaven He shall thunder upon them.

The Lord shall judge the ends of the earth & He shall give strength to His king & exalt the horn of His anointed. Elkanah went to his house in Ramah. [Samuel served] the Lord before Eli, the priest.

Now, the sons of Eli [were worthless men] & they [didn’t know] the Lord. The priest’s custom with the people was, [that] when any man offered [a] sacrifice, the priest’s servant came with his [3 pronged meat] hook in his [hands] while the [meat] was [boiling.]

He [scooped the meat] hook into the pan, kettle, caldron, or pot &, the priests took for himself all the [meat] the hook brought up. They did [this] in Shiloh to all the Israelites [who] came [there.]

Also, before they burned the fat, the priest’s servant came & said to the man [who] sacrificed, Give [me the meat] to roast for the priest, for he won’t have boiled [meat from] you, but [only] raw [to be roasted.]

And if any man said to him, Let us burn the fat [first] & then take as much as your soul [desires,] then he would answer, [No,] but you shall give it to me now [uncooked] & if not, I will take it from you by force. The sin of [Eli’s sons] was very [large,] before the Lord: for [the men’s] offering [to] the Lord [was loathsome.]

[Malachi 2:7-9 For the priest’s lips should keep knowledge & they should seek the Law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of Hosts. But you [have] departed out of the [path] & you have caused many to stumble [related to] the Law & you have corrupted the covenant of Levi, says the Lord of Hosts. Therefore, I have also made you contemptible & [low] before all the people, [since] you haven’t kept My ways but have been partial in the Law.]

But Samuel ministered before the Lord, being a child, [clothed] with a linen ephod. [1 Samuel 2:28 And [didn't] I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to offer upon [My] altar, to burn incense & to wear an ephod before Me? And [didn't] I give to the house of your father all the offerings made by fire of the children [people] of Israel?]

[Additionally,] his mother made him a little coat & brought it to him [each] year, when she came up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice. Eli blessed Elkanah & [Hannah] & said, The Lord give you [children by] this woman for the loan [of Samuel, who] is lent to the Lord & they went to their own home.

The Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived & bore 3 sons & 2 daughters. The child, Samuel, grew before the Lord. Now, Eli was very old & heard all that his sons did to all [of] Israel & how they lay [intimately] with the women, [who] assembled at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

[Eli] said to them, Why do you [do] such things? For I hear of your evil [actions] by all [these] people. [No,] my sons; for it isn’t [a] good report that I hear. You make the Lord’s people [sin.]

If one man [sins] against another, the judge [shall decide.] But if a man sins against the Lord, who [shall defend] him? They [still] didn’t [pay attention] to the voice of their father, because the Lord [intended to kill] them.

The child, Samuel grew & was in favor with both the Lord & also with men. A man of God came to Eli & said, The Lord has said [this,] [Didn’t] I [visibly] appear [to] your [forefathers,] when they were in Pharaoh’s house in Egypt?

[Didn’t] I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be My priest, to offer upon My altar, to burn incense & to wear an ephod before Me? [Didn’t] I give to the house of your father all the offerings made by fire of the children [people] of Israel?

[For what reason do] you kick at My sacrifice & My offering, which I have commanded [for My dwelling place] & [you honor] your sons above Me, to make yourselves fat with the [best] of all the offerings of Israel, My people?

[For this reason,] the Lord God of Israel [says,] I indeed said your house & the house of your [forefathers,] should walk before Me forever. But now the Lord [says,] Be it far from Me; for [those who] honor Me, I will honor & [those who] despise Me, shall be lightly [thought of.]

[Watch,] the days come, [when] I will cut off your arm & the arm of your father’s house & there [won’t] be an old man in your house. You shall see an enemy in My [dwelling place,] in all the wealth [that] God shall give Israel. And there shall not be an old man in your house forever

[Those of] your [men,] whom I [don’t] cut off from [My] altar, shall [have] their eyes [consumed] [by crying] by & your [hearts grieved.] All the [future generations] of your house shall die in [their prime.]

This shall be the sign to you, [of what] shall come upon your 2 sons: Hophni & Phinehas; in 1 day, they shall both die. I will raise up a faithful priest [for] Me, [who] shall do according to [what] is in [My] heart & My mind.

I will build him a [secure] house & he shall walk before [My] anointed forever. It shall [happen,] that everyone [who] is left in your house shall come & [bow down] to him for a piece of silver & a [crumb] of bread & shall say, I pray [that] you put me into 1 of the priests’ [positions, so] I may eat a piece of bread.

1 Samuel 1:1-28 Hannah Prays to the Lord for a Son

Hannah Prays to the Lord for a Son

1 Samuel 1:1-28     The Book of 1 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

Now, there was a man of Ramathaim Zophim [from] Mount Ephraim & his name was Elkanah, [Jeroham’s] son, [who was] the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, [who was] the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite.

He had 2 wives [named] Hannah & Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah [didn’t have] children. [Elkanah] went up out of his city yearly to worship & sacrifice to the Lord of Hosts in Shiloh.

The 2 sons of Eli: Hophni & Phinehas, the priests of the Lord, were there. When [it] was time [for] Elkanah [to offer,] he gave to Peninnah, his wife & her sons & daughters portions [of food,] but to Hannah, he gave an [double] portion.

For [Elkanah] loved Hannah: but the Lord had shut her womb. Her adversary [Peninnah] provoked her [severely,] to make her [worry,] because the Lord had shut up her womb.

And as [Elkanah] went to the house of the Lord, [each year,] [Peninnah] provoked [Hannah.] Therefore [Hannah cried] & didn’t eat. Her husband, Elkanah [asked] her, Hannah, why [are] you [crying] & not eating? Why is your heart grieved?

Aren’t I better to you than 10 sons? So Hannah rose up after they had eaten & [had something to] drink in Shiloh. Now, Eli, the priest, sat by a [doorpost in] the temple of the Lord. [Hannah’s] soul was [bitterly distraught] & [she] prayed to the Lord & [sorely] wept.

She [made] a vow & said, O Lord of Hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your handmaid & remember me & not forget Your handmaid & will give Your handmaid a [male] child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life & no razor shall come upon his head.

As she continued praying before the Lord, it [happened] that Eli [noticed] her mouth. Now, Hannah spoke [silently] in her heart, [but] only her lips moved, [so] Eli thought she [was drunk.]

And Eli said to her, How long will you [continue to be drunk?] Put the wine away from you. Hannah answered & said, No, my lord, I am a woman with a sorrowful spirit.

I haven’t drunk wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. [Don’t consider me] as a [wicked] woman. For out of the abundance of my [sorrow] & grief I have [been speaking.]

Then, Eli answered & said, Go in peace & [may] the God of Israel grant you your [request] that you [have] asked of Him. [Hannah] said, Let your handmaid find grace in your sight. So, [she] went her way & ate & she no [longer looked] sad.

They rose up in the morning early & worshiped before the Lord & returned to their house [in] Ramah. Elkanah [was intimate with] Hannah, his wife & the Lord remembered her.

It happened,] after Hannah had conceived & [bore] a son, his name was called Samuel, saying, Because I have asked [for] him [from] the Lord. Elkanah & all his [family,] went up to offer to the Lord the yearly sacrifice & [fulfill] his vow, but Hannah [didn’t go] up.

She said to her husband, I won’t go up until the child [is] weaned & then I will bring him, [so]he may appear before the Lord & [he shall stay there] forever. Elkannah said, Do what seems good [to] you.

[Wait] until you’ve weaned him & only [let] the Lord establish His Word. So, [Hannah stayed & nursed him] until she weaned him. When she had weaned him, she took [Samuel] up with her & 3 [bulls,] 1 ephah of flour & a bottle of wine & brought them to the house of the Lord in Shiloh. The child was young. They [killed] a bull] & brought the child to Eli.

[Hannah] said, Oh my lord, as my soul lives, I am the woman [who] stood by you here, praying to the Lord. I prayed for this child & the Lord has given me my [request that] I asked of Him.

Therefore I have also lent [my son] to the Lord; as long as he lives, he shall be lent to the Lord. And [Samuel] worshiped the Lord there.

Ruth 4:1-22 Ruth, Boaz, Naomi & Obed

Ruth, Boaz, Naomi & Obed

Ruth 4:1-22                   The Book of Ruth [in Smaller Chunks]

Then, Boaz went up to the gate & sat down there & [saw that] the [close relative] of whom Boaz [had spoken] came by. [Boaz asked him,] Turn aside & sit down here [& he did.] [Boaz] took 10 men [from] the city & said, Sit down here & they sat down.

[Boaz] said to the [close relative,] Naomi, [who] has [come] here again, [from] the country of Moab, sells a parcel of land, [that] was our brother Elimelech’s. I thought to [inform ] you, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants & elders of my people.

If you will redeem it, redeem it, but if you won’t redeem it, then tell me, [so] I may know. For there is none [closer] to redeem it [besides] you & I am after you. [The close relative] said, I will redeem it.

Then, Boaz said, [The] day you buy the field at the hand of Naomi, you must also buy it [from] Ruth, the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name [of her deceased husband] upon his inheritance.

The relative said, I can’t redeem it for myself, lest I [endanger] my own inheritance. [You can] redeem my right to [it] yourself, [since] I can’t redeem it.

To confirm redeeming things, [as] was [done in the past] in Israel, a man [took] off his shoe & gave it [to the other] as a testimony in Israel. Therefore, the [close relative] said to Boaz, Buy it for yourself.

So, [Boaz took] off his shoe & said to the elders & all the people, You are witnesses, this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech’s, Chilion’s & Mahlon’s, [from] the hand of Naomi.

[Also,] Ruth, the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, [whom] I have [redeemed] to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, [so] the name [isn’t] cut off from among his brethren & the gate of his [home.] You are witnesses this day.

And all the people in the gate & the elders said, We are witnesses. [Let] the Lord make the woman [who comes] into your house like Rachel & like Leah, [who both] built the house of Israel & do worthily [to] you in Ephratah & be famous in Bethlehem.

Let your house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar [gave birth] unto Judah & the [descendants that] the Lord will give you [by] this young woman. So, Boaz took Ruth & she was his wife & [was intimate with her] & the Lord [allowed her to conceive] & she [delivered] a son.

*And the women said to Naomi, Blessed be the Lord, [Who] has not left you this day without [a grandson,] that his name may be famous in Israel. [Luke 3:23 And Jesus, Himself, began to be about 30 years of age, being (as was [thought]) the son of Joseph, who was the son of Heli.] [Luke 3:31-3 [Who] was the son of Melea, [who] was the son of Menan, [who] was the son of Mattatha, [who] was the son of Nathan, [who] was the son of David, [who] was the son of Jesse, [who] was the son of Obed, [who] was the son of Boaz, [who] was the son of Salmon, [who] wa the son of Naasson.]

He shall [renew] your life & [assist you in] your old age: for your daughter-in-law, [who] loves you & [who has given birth to him,] which is better to you than 7 sons.

Naomi took the child & laid him in her bosom & became a nurse to [him.] Naomi’s [female] neighbors gave [him] the name [of:] Obed.

* [Obed became] the father of Jesse, [who was] the father of David. [Matthew 1:1 The book of the generations of Jesus Christ, the [descendant] of David, the [descendant] of Abraham.]

Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez [fathered] Hezron. Hezron [fathered] Ram. Ram [fathered] Amminadab. Amminadab [fathered] Nahshon. Nahshon [fathered] Salmon. Salmon [fathered] Boaz.

*Boaz [fathered] Obed. Obed [fathered] Jesse & Jesse [fathered] David. [Matthew 1:5-6 Salmon [fathered] Boaz of Rahab [a.k.a Rachab.] Boaz [a.k.a. Booz] [fathered] Obed of Ruth & Obed [fathered] Jesse. Jesse [fathered] David, the king [who fathered] Solomon, [by] her [who] had been the wife of Uriah [a.k.a. Urias.]

[Matthew 1:17 says: So all the generations from Abraham to David are 14 generations. From David until the [captives are carried] away into Babylon are 14 generations. And from the [captives being carried] away into Babylon [until] Christ are 14 generations.]
