About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible::

About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:

Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV. Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning. For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.

The Table Format:

The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.

2 Samuel 10:1-19 David Is Sending His Servants to Comfort Hanum

David Is Sending His Servants to Comfort Hanum

2 Samuel 10:1-19       The Book of 2 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

After this, the king of the children [people] of Ammon died & Hanum, his son, [ruled] in his [place]. Then, David said, I will show kindness to Hanum, [Nahash’] son, [since] his father [showed] kindness to me.

David sent his servants to comfort him, [because of the death of] his father. David’s servants came to the land of the [people] of Ammon. [Their] princes said to Hanum, their lord, [Do you really] think that David [is honoring] your father, [since] he has sent comforters to you?

[Instead,] hasn’t David sent his servants to you to search & spy out the city, to overthrow it? [Therefore,] Hanum took David’s servants & shaved off 1/2 of their beards & cut their [clothing] in the middle of their buttocks & sent them away.

When David [was] told, he sent [messengers] to meet them, because they were greatly ashamed. King [David] said, [Stay] at Jericho until your beards [are] grown & then return.

When the [people] of Ammon saw that [what they did] stank before David, the [people] of Ammon sent & hired [from the] Syrians, 20,000 footmen [from] Beth Rehob & Zoba, 1,000 men [from] king Maacah & 12,000 men [from] IshTob.

When David heard [this], he sent Joab with all the [army] of mighty men. The [Ammonites] came out & put the battle in [rows] at the gate [entrance]. The Syrians of Zoba, Rehob, IshTob & Maacah, were by themselves in the field.

When Joab saw the battle [rows] in [front] & behind him, he chose the [best] men of Israel & put them in [rows] against the Syrians. The rest of the [Israelites, Joab sent] to Abishai, his brother, [so] he might put them in [rows] against the [people] of Ammon.

He said, If the Syrians [are] too strong for me, you shall help me, but if the [people] of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will come & help you. Be [courageous] & let us [prove ourselves strong] for our people & the cities of our God.

The Lord [shall] do [what] seems good [to] Him. Joab & the men with him, drew [close] to the battle against the Syrians & they fled before [Joab]. When the [people] of Ammon saw the Syrians [had] fled, they also fled, [in front of] Abishai & entered into the city.

So, Joab returned from the [Ammonites] & came to Jerusalem. When the Syrians saw they were [defeated] before Israel, they gathered together.

Hadarezer sent [to bring out more] Syrians [from] beyond the Euphrates River & they came to Helam; and Shobach, [Hadarezer’s army] captain, went [in front of] them.

When David was told, he gathered all [of] Israel together & [crossed] over [the] Jordan [River] & came to Helam. The Syrians [put] themselves into [rows] against David & fought with him.

The Syrains fled before Israel & David [killed] the men of 700 Syrian chariots & 40,000 horsemen & he [struck down] Shobach, the captain of their [army], who died there.

When all the kings [who] were [Hadrezer’s] servants saw they were [defeated] before Israel, they made peace with Israel & served them. So, the Syrians [were afraid] to help the [Ammonites] anymore.

2 Samuel 9:1-13 Daniel Has Jonathan’s Remaining Son Located

Daniel Has Jonathan’s Remaining Son Located

2 Samuel 9:1-13       The Book of 2 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

David said, [Are] there any sons [still] left of the house of Saul, [so] that I may [show] him kindness for Jonathan’s sake? There was a servant [named] Ziba, of the house of Saul.

When he was called to [king] David, he asked, [Are] you Ziba? [He was] & the king [asked, Are] there any [left from] the house of Saul, [so] I may [show] the kindness of God to him?

Ziba said, Jonathan [still] has a son [who] is lame [in] his feet. David asked, Where is he? Ziba said to the king, [Look,] he is in the house of Machir, [Ammiel’s] son, in Lodebar.

King David sent & [had him brought from] the house of Machir, in Lodebar. When Mephibosheth, [Jonathan’s] son, [came] to David, he fell [& bowed toward the ground] & [to pay honor to David].

When David said, Mephibosheth. He said,  [Look,] your servant! David told him, Don’t be [fearful,] for I will surely show you kindness for your father, [Jonathan’s] sake & will restore [to] you all the land of Saul, your [grandfather].

You shall eat bread at my table continually. He bowed & said, What is your servant, that you should look upon such a dead  dog as I am? King [David] called Ziba, Saul’s servant & said, I have given your master’s son all that pertained to Saul & to all [of] his house.

Therefore, you & your sons & your servants, shall [work] the land for him & bring in the [crops], [so]your master’s son may have food to eat, but Mephibosheth, your master’s son, shall eat bread at my table always.

Ziba had 15 sons & 20 servants. Then, Ziba said to the king, [I,] your servant, shall do according to all that my lord, the king, [has] commanded [me,] his servant.

Mephibosheth had a young son, [named] Micha & all [who lived] in the house of Ziba, were servants to Mephibosheth. So Mephibosheth [lived] in Jerusalem, for he [ate] continually at the king’s table & was lame in both [of] his feet.

2 Samuel 8:1-18 David Conquers Many Nations

David Conquers Many Nations

2 Samuel 8:1-18       The Book of 2 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

After this David [attacked] the Philistines & [conquered] them. David took Metheg Ammah [a.k.a. The Bridle of the Mother City] out of the [hands] of the Philistines.

[David also attacked & defeated] Moab & [made them lie down on the ground & measured them off with cord into 3 groups. The groups measured with 2 lengths of cord were to be put to death & those measured with 1 length of cord were spared].

So, the [remaining] Moabites, became David’s servants & brought him gifts. David also [attacked] Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah, when [Hadadezer] went to [bring back his power by the coastline] border of the Euphrates River.

David took 1,000 chariots, 700 horsemen & 20,000 footmen from him. David [hamstrung] all the chariot horses, but [saved] 100 of the chariots. When the Syrians of Damascus came to [assist] Hadadezer, [Zobah’s] king, David [killed] 22,000 Syrian men.

David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus & the Syrians became David’s servants & brought [him] gifts. The Lord [protected] David [wherever] he went. David took the shields of gold that were on [Hadadezer’s officers] & brought them to Jerusalem.

From Betah & Berothai, [Hadadezer’s] cities, David took exceeding [amounts of] brass [from there].

When Toi, [Hamath’s] king, heard [that] David had killed all the [army] of Hadadezer, [he] sent Joram, his son, to king David to [greet] him & bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer & [killed] him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. Joram brought silver, gold & brass [articles] with him .

King David also [dedicated these] to the Lord with [all] the silver & gold he had dedicated [from] all the nations [that David] had [conquered:] Syria, Moab, the children [people] of Ammon, Philistines & of Amalek & the [plunder] of Hadadezer, [Rehob’s] son, king of Zobah.

After [David] returned from [killing] 18,000 Syrian men in the Valley of Salt, David [became famous]. [David] put garrisons throughout Edom & [those Edomites] became David’s servants.

The Lord [protected] David [wherever] he went. David [ruled] over all [of] Israel & he [delivered] judgment & justice to all his people. Joab, [Zeruiah’s] son, was over the [army] & Jehoshaphat, [Ahilud’s] son, was [the] recorder.

Zadok, [Ahitub’s] son & Ahimelech, [Abiathar’s] son, were the priests & Seriah was the scribe. Benaiah, [Jehoiada’s] son, was over both the Cherethites & the Pelethings. David’s sons were chief [ministers].

2 Samuel 7:1-29 The Lord God Blessed David’s Lineage Foretelling of Jesus

The Lord God Blessed David’s Lineage Foretelling of Jesus

2 Samuel 7:1-29       The Book of 2 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

It [happened] when king [David] sat in his house & the Lord had given him rest [all around] from his enemies. King [David] said to Nathan, the prophet, See now, I [live] in a house of cedar, but the Ark of God [dwells] within curtains [in a tent].

Nathan said to king [David,] Go, do all that is in your heart, for the Lord is with you. That night, the word of the Lord came to Nathan, saying, Go & tell My servant, David, the Lord says [this,] Shall you build Me a house for Me to dwell in?

I haven’t dwelt in any house, since the time that I brought up the children [people] of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have [moved from place to place] in a tent & a tabernacle, [as My dwelling].

In all the places I have walked [along] with all the children [people] of Israel, [did I ever say, Why] haven’t you built Me, [the Lord God] a house of cedar?

Therefore say to My servant, David, now, The Lord of hosts [says,] I took you from following the [flock of sheep,] to be [the] ruler over Israel, My people. I was with you [wherever] you went & have [destroyed] your enemies out of your sight & have made your name great, like [greatest leaders in the world].

[Also,] I will [select] a place for My people, Israel & I will plant them [there, so] that they may [live] in a place of their own & no [longer] move. Neither shall [wicked people] afflict them anymore, [like] they did [before].

Since the time I have commanded judges to be over My people, Israel & [allowed] you to rest from all of your [enemies,] the Lord also [told] you that He will make you a house.

*When your days [are] fulfilled & you sleep with your [forefathers,] I will [raise] up [one of] your [descendents, from your own body] after you, & I will establish His kingdom.

[Matthew 1:17 says: So all the generations from Abraham to David are 14 generations. From David until the carrying away [captive] to Babylon are 14 generations. And from the carrying away [captive] to Babylon to Christ are 14 generations].

*He shall build a house for My name & I will [establish] the throne of His kingdom forever. I will be His Father & He will be My Son. [John 3:16-18 Jesus says: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.

For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He [who] believes in Him, is not condemned: but he [who doesn’t] believe is condemned already, because he didn’t believe in the name of the only begotten Son of God.]

If he commits iniquity, I will [correct] him with the rod of men & with the stripes of the children of men. But My mercy shall not depart from Him, [like] I [took it] away from Saul, whom I [removed] from you.

* Your house & your kingdom shall be established forever before you. Your throne shall be established forever. [Matthew 16:27 Jesus says: For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according to His [actions].]

Nathan spoke to David according to all these words of his vision. When David went & sat before the Lord, he said, Who am I, O Lord God? What is my house that you have brought me [here]?

This was a small thing in Your sight, O Lord God, but You have spoken of the future house of your servant, [for a long time] to come. Is this the manner [of kindness you normally show] man, O Lord God?

What more can [I,] David, say to You. For You, Lord God, know your servant. For according to Your own heart & Your word’s sake, You [have] done these great things & [made them known to me,] Your servant.

[Therefore,] You are great, O Lord God, for there is none like You. Neither is there any God [except] You, according to all we have heard with our [own] ears. What one nation in the [world] is even like Israel, Your people, whom God went to redeem [as] a people for Himself & to make Him a name.

You [did] great & [awesome] things, before your people in your land, [that] You have redeemed to You from Egypt, from the nations & their [false] gods. For You [have] confirmed Your people, Israel, to Yourself, to be a people [for] You forever & You, Lord, [have] become their God.

Now, O Lord God, the word You have spoken [about me,] Your servant & his house, establish it forever & do [just] as You have said. And let Your name be magnified forever, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God over Israel & let the house of Your servant, David, be established before You.

For You, O Lord of hosts, God of Israel, have revealed to Your servant, saying, I will build you a house. Therefore, Your servant has found it in his heart to pray this prayer to You.

Now, O Lord God, You are God & Your words [are] true & You have promised this goodness to Your servant. Therefore, let it now please You to bless the house of Your servant, that it may continue forever before You.

For You, O Lord God, have spoken it & with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever.

2 Samuel 6:1-23 Bringing the Ark of the Lord to the City of David

Bringing the Ark of the Lord to the City of David

2 Samuel 6:1-23       The Book of 2 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

David gathered together all the 30,000 [best] men of Israel again.

David with his men arose & went [to] Baale [a.k.a. Baalah] of Judah, to bring up from [there] the Ark of God, whose name is called the Lord of hosts, [who] dwells between the 2 cherubim [angel statues on either side of the Ark].

They [put] the Ark of God up on a new cart & brought it out of the house of Abinadab in Gibeah. Uzzah & Ahio [Abinadab’s] sons, drove the new cart. [They] accompanied the Ark of God out of the house of Abinadab [in] Gibeah & Ahio went [in front of] the Ark.

David & all the house Israel played all [types] of instruments made of fir, even on harps, [zithers, tambourines,] cornets & cymbals.

When they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put his hand [on] the ark & took hold of it; [because] the oxen [stumbled &] shook it.

The Lord’s anger [grew] against Uzzah & God [struck him down] there for his error [for it was irreverent to touch the Lord’s Ark] & [Uzzah] died by the Ark of God.

David was displeased, because the [Lord’s anger had burst out against] Uzzah. [David] called the name of the place Perez-Uzzah, [its name] to this day. David was afraid of the Lord that day & said, How shall the Ark of the Lord come to me?

So, David wouldn’t [move] the Ark of the Lord into the city of David, but David carried it aside into the house of Obed Edom, the Gittite.

The Ark of the Lord [stayed] in the house of Obed Edom [for] 3 months & the Lord blessed Obed Edom & all his household. David was told, The Lord has blessed the house of Obed Edom & all [his family,] because of the Ark of God.

So David went & brought [out] the Ark of God from the house of Obed Edom, into the city of David with gladness. [Whenever those who carried] the Ark of the Lord had gone 6 paces, [David] sacrificed oxen & [a fatted calf].

David [wore] a linen ephod [decorative vest usually worn by the high priest] & danced before the Lord with all his might. So, David & all the house of Israel brought up the Ark of the Lord with shouting & the sound of [trumpets].

As the Ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through the window & saw king David leaping & dancing before the Lord & she despised him in her heart.

They brought the Ark of the Lord & [put] it in [its] place in the [middle] of  the [tent of the tabernacle] that David [put up] for it. David offered burnt offerings & peace offerings before the Lord [God].

As soon as David had [finished sacrificing the] burnt offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.

[David distributed:] a cake of bread, a good piece of [meat] & a [bottle] of wine among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, [including both] women and men. So, all the people [left], everyone to his [own] house. Then, David returned to bless his household.

And Michal, Saul’s daughter, came out to meet David & said, [Wasn’t] the king of Israel glorious, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of his [servant’s] handmaids, like 1 of the [vulgar] fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!

David said to Michal, [I was dancing] before the Lord [God, who] chose me [over] your father & all his house & [appointed] me ruler over Israel, the people of the Lord.

Therefore, I will play [& dance] before the Lord. I will [still] be more [undignified] than [this] & I will be [humble] in my own sight & the maidservants you [spoke] of, shall honor me.

Therefore, Michal, Saul’s daughter, had no child [until] the day of her death.

2 Samuel 5:1-25 David is Anointed King Over Israel

David is Anointed King Over Israel

2 Samuel 5:1-25       The Book of 2 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

Then all the tribes of Israel came to David in Hebron & [spoke,] saying, [Look,] we are your flesh & bone. In the past, when Saul was king over us, you were the one [who] led [Israel out to battle] & brought us in [again].

The Lord said to you, You shall feed My people, Israel & be a [leader] over Israel. So, all the elders of Israel came to the king in Hebron & king David made a [pact] with them in Hebron before the Lord.

They anointed David king over Israel when he was 30 years old & he [ruled] 40 years. In Hebron [David had already ruled] 7 1/2 years over Judah & in Jerusalem, he ruled over both Israel & Judah 33 years [for a total of 40 years].

King [David] & his men went to Jerusalem to the Jebusites, [who inhabited] the land. [They] spoke to David, saying, You shall not come in [here,] even the blind & lame could keep you out, thinking David couldn’t come in [there].

[However,] David [captured] the [fortress] of Zion, which is the city of David. David said on that day, [Whoever] gets up to the [guttering by way of the water pipe] & [attacks] the Jebusites, the lame & blind, [who are despised] by David, shall be the chief & captain.

[Therefore] they said, The blind & the lame shall not come into the [palace]. David [lived] in the [fortress] & called it the city of David. David built [around] it from Milo, inward.

David went on & grew great & the Lord God of hosts was with him. Hiram, [Tyre’s] king, sent messengers to David & cedar trees, carpenters & masons & they built David a house.

David [realized] the Lord [God] had established him [as] king over Israel & that [God] had exalted his kingdom for His people Israel’s sake. David took more wives & [mistresses for himself] from Hebron & [he fathered] more sons & daughters.

These [are] the names of [his children] born to him in Jerusalem: Shammuah, Shobab, Nathan & Solomon. Also, Ibhar, Elishua, Nepheg, Japhia, Elishama, Eliada & Eliphalet.

But when the Philistines heard they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to [search for] David. David heard of it & he went to his [safe place of refuge].

The Philistines came & spread themselves [out] in the Valley of Rephaim. David inquired of the Lord, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? [Will] You deliver them into my hand?

The Lord said to David, Go up, for I will [certainly] deliver the Philistines into your hand. David came to Baal Perazim & [defeated them there & said, The Lord has broken [out] upon [my] enemies, [in front of] me, like a [raging flood].

Therefore, [David] called the place Baal Perazim. The [Philistines] left their [idols] there & David & his men burned them. The Philistines came up again & spread themselves in the Valley of Rephaim.

When David inquired of the Lord, He said, You shall not up up, but [circle around] behind them & [attack] them [opposite to] the mulberry trees [a.k.a balsam trees].

When you hear the sound [of marching] in the top of the mulberry trees, [be ready,] for the Lord will go out before you, to [strike down] the Philistine [army]. David did as the Lord had commanded him & he [struck down] the Philistine [army] from Geba [all the way] to Gazer [a.k.a. Gezer].

2 Samuel 4:1-12 Two Brothers Kill Saul’s Son, Ishbosheth

Two Brothers Kill Saul’s Son, Ishbosheth

2 Samuel 4:1-12       The Book of 2 Samuel [in Smaller Chunks]

When Saul’s son, [Ishbosheth] heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands were feeble & all the Israelites were troubled. Saul’s son had 2 men [who] were [leaders of raiding parties].

1 was named Baanah & the other, Rechab, [Rimmon’s] sons, a Bethrothite, of the children [people] of Benjamin. (Beeroth was also given to [& considered part] of Benjamin.

The Beerothites fled to Gittam & lived there [as foreigners] until this day.) Jonathan, Saul’s [deceased] son, had a son [who] was lame [in] his feet. He was 5 years old when the [news] came of Saul & [Jonathan’s deaths] out of Jezeel.

His nurse took him up & fled, but in her [hurry,] to flee, he fell & became [crippled]. His name was Mephibosheth.

Rachab & Baanah, [Rimmon’s] sons, went & came to the house of Ishbosheth, [around noon in the hottest part] of the day [while he lay napping].

They came into the [middle] of the house, as [if] they would [have gotten] wheat & they [struck Ishbosheth] under the 5th rib & Rechab & his brother, Baanah, escaped.

For when they came into the house, [Ishbosheth was lying down] on his bed in his [bedroom] & they [struck] him & [killed] & beheaded him & took his head. They [got] away, [going] through the plain all night.

They brought the head of Ishbosheth to David in Hebron & said to king [David, Look,] the head of Ishbosheth, the son of Saul, your enemy, [who tried to kill you].

The Lord [God] has avenged my lord, the king, this day [against] Saul & his [descendants]. David said to [them,] As the Lord lives, who has redeemed my soul from all [trouble,]

When [someone] told me Saul [was] dead, thinking they brought me good [news], I [had him killed] in Ziklag [when he] thought I would give him a reward for his [news].

How much more [will be done] when wicked men have [killed] a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? Shall I not require his blood [by] your [hands] & take you away from the earth?

David commanded his young men & they [killed Baanah & Rechab] & cut off their hands & feet & hung them over the pool in Hebron [for brutally assassinating Ishbosheth]. But they took the head of Ishbosheth & buried it in the [tomb] of Abner in Hebron.
