About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible::

About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:

Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV. Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning. For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.

The Table Format:

The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.

Genesis 31:1-55 Jacob Takes His Family to Return Home

Jacob Takes His Family to Return Home

Genesis  31:1-55               The First Book of Moses Called Genesis

[Jacob] heard Laban’s sons saying, Jacob has taken away all that was our father's & [from that] Jacob has gotten all his [glory.] Jacob [saw that] Laban wasn't [acting] toward him [like he was] before. *[Then,] the Lord said to Jacob, Return to the land of your fathers & to your [family] & I will be with you.

[Genesis 28:15 [Look,] I am with you & will keep you in all [the] places [where] you go & will bring you again to this land. For I won't leave you, until I have done [what] I have [said] to you.]

Jacob sent [for] & called both Rachel & Leah to his flock [in] the field & [told] them, I see [that] your father is [upset] with me [unlike how he was] before. But the God of my father has been with me. You know that I have served your father with all my power, [yet, he] deceived me & changed my wages 10 times, but God didn’t [allow him] to hurt me.

If [your father] said, The speckled shall be your wages, then all the [flocks] bore speckled. If he said all the [streaked] shall be your [wages], then all the [flocks] bore [streaked]. So, God has taken away the [livestock] of your father & given them to me. At the time the [flocks] conceived, I saw in a dream [that] the rams which leaped upon the [flocks] were [streaked], speckled & [gray-spotted].

[Then,] the Angel of God spoke to me in a dream [& said,] Jacob. And I said, Here I am. And [the Angel] said, Lift up your eyes now & see all the rams which leap on the [flocks] are [streaked], speckled & [gray-spotted:] for I have seen what Laban does to you.

I am the God of BethEl, where you anointed the pillar & [made] a vow to Me.

Now, arise & get out [of] this land & return to the land of your [family.] Rachel & Leah answered & said to [Jacob,] Is there [still] any portion or inheritance for us in our father’s house?

Aren't we [considered] strangers? [Since,] he has sold us [for Jacob’s service] & also [completely consumed] our money. For all the riches which God has taken from our father, that is ours & our children’s. [They told Jacob,] Now, whatever God has said to you, do [it.]

Then Jacob rose up & set his [children & wives] on camels & carried away all his goods he had gotten & all his [livestock] he had gotten in Padan Aram, to go to his father, Isaac, in the land of Canaan. [While] Laban had gone to shear the sheep, Rachel had stolen father’s [idols.]

Jacob stole away, [unknown] to Laban, the Syrian, in that [Jacob didn’t] tell [Laban, so] he fled. [Jacob] fled with all he had & he rose up & passed over the river & headed toward the [mountains of] Gilead. On the 3rd day [after] Jacob fled, Laban was told [about it].

And [Laban] took his brethren with him & pursued after him 7 days' journey & overtook [Jacob] in the [mountains of] Gilead. And God came to Laban [at] night in a dream & [told] him, [Be careful] that you [don't] speak [anything] good or bad to Jacob. Jacob had pitched his tent in the mountains.

Then, Laban, [caught up with] Jacob. Now, Jacob had pitched his tent in the [mountain.]  Laban & his brethren pitched [their tents] in the [mountains] of Gilead. Laban [asked] Jacob, Why have you done that & have stolen away [unbeknownst] to me & carried away my daughters, [like] captives [are] taken with a sword? [Why] did you flee secretly & steal away from me? [Why didn't] you tell me, [so] I might have sent you away with [joy,] songs, [tambourines] & [harps?]

He told Jacob that he had done foolishly [in leaving without] allowing him to kiss his sons & daughters [grandchildren]. Laban told Jacob that it is within his power to do him [Jacob] [harm], but the God of Jacob’s father spoke to me in a dream last night & told me to [not] speak to Jacob [either] good or bad.

[Haven't you not allowed] me to kiss my [grandsons] & my [granddaughter?] You have now done foolishly in doing [this.] It is in my power to do you [harm,] but the God of your father, [spoke] to me [last night,] saying, [Pay careful attention] that you not speak to Jacob either good or bad.

And now, [although you needed to] be gone, because you [severely long] after your father's [family,] why have you stolen my gods? Jacob answered that he was afraid that Laban might take his daughters from him by force. Jacob answered Laban, [I didn't tell you,] because I was afraid. For I said, [Perhaps.] you would take your daughters from me by force. [Decide] before our brethren what is yours, with me & take it [with] you. With [whomever] you find [with] your gods, [shall] not live. For Jacob [didn't] know that Rachel had stolen them.

Laban went into the [tents of Jacob, Leah] & 2 of the maidservants, but he [didn't] find them. Then [Laban] entered into Rachel’s tent. Now, Rachel had [hidden] the images in the camel’s [saddle] & sat on it. And Laban searched all of Leah's tent, but didn't find them.

Leah [told] her father [when he was searching for it,] [Don't] let it displease [you,] my lord, that I can’t rise up [in front of] you, for [it's due to] the monthly [manner] of women [that] is upon me. [Laban] searched, but [didn't] find the images. Jacob was [angry] & [criticized] Laban & asked, What is my trespass? What is my sin that you have so hotly pursued after me?

After you have searched all my stuff, what have you found of all your household [things?] Set it here, before my brethren & your brethren, so they [can] judge between both [of] us! [For] 20 years [while I was] with you, your ewes & female goats haven’t [miscarried] their young & I have not eaten the rams of your flock.

[In fact], I bore the loss of that which was torn [by] beasts or stolen [by] day or night & I bore the loss [rather than bringing it to you for a loss]. [I was there] in the day the drought consumed me & the frost by night & I [couldn’t] sleep.

I have been in your house 20 years & served you 14 years for your 2 daughters & 6 years for your [flock] & you have changed my wages 10 times. [If it hadn’t been for the] God of my father, [Isaac] & the God of Abraham, being with me & rebuking you [last night,] you would have sent me away empty [handed.]

Laban answered & said to Jacob, These daughters are my daughters & these children are my children & the [livestock] are my [livestock] & all that you see are mine. What can I do this day to these my daughters, or to their children, which they have [given birth to?]

Therefore, now come & let us make a covenant [contract] & let it be a witness between you & me. And Jacob took a [rock] & set it up for a pillar & said to his brethren, Gather stones. And they took stones & made a heap & they ate there upon the heap.

And Laban called it Jegar Sahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed. And Laban said, This heap is a witness [between] me & you this day. Therefore, the name of it [is] called Galeed & Mizpah; for he said, The Lord [watches between] me & you, when we are absent from one another.

If you shall afflict my daughters, or if you take other wives, besides my daughters & no man is with us; see, God is [the] witness [between] you & me. And Laban said to Jacob, [See,] this heap & [see] this pillar, that I have [constructed between] us.

This heap & this pillar [are] witnesses, that I will not [cross] over this heap to you & that you [won't cross] over this heap & pillar to me, for harm.

The God of Abraham & the God of Nahor & the God of their [fathers will be the] judge between us. Jacob swore by the fear [respect] of his father, Isaac.

Then, Jacob offered a sacrifice on the [mountain] & called his brethren to eat bread & they [ate.] And they stayed all night [on] the [mountain.] Laban rose up early in the morning & kissed & blessed his daughters [grandchildren] & departed & returned to his place.

Genesis 30:1-43 The Birth of 11 of Jacob’s Children

The Birth of 11 of Jacob’s Children

Genesis  30:1-43               The First Book of Moses Called Genesis

When Rachel saw that she had [given] Jacob no children, she envied her sister, [Leah.] [Rachel] said to Jacob, Give me children or else I die! [Jacob's] anger [grew] & he said, Am I in [place of God, Who has withheld [children] from you? She [told Jacob, See] my maid, Bihah, go in [& be intimate with her] & she shall bear [children] upon my knees [so that] I may have children by her. [Rachel] gave [Jacob,] Bilhah, her handmaid [as a] wife & Jacob [was intimate] with her.

Bilhah conceived & [bore] Jacob a son. Rachel said, God has judged me & has heard my voice & given me a son. Therefore, [Rachel] called his name Dan. Rachel’s maid, Bilhah, conceived again & [bore] Jacob a 2nd son. Rachel said, With great [struggles,] I have wrestled with my sister & I have prevailed. She called his name Naphtali.

When Leah [realized] she had [stopped] bearing [children], she gave Zilpah, her maid, to Jacob [as a] wife & Leah's maid [bore] Jacob a son. Leah said, A troop is coming & called his name Gad. Leah’s maid, Zilpah, [bore] Jacob a 2nd son & Leah said, Happy, am I for the daughters will call me blessed & she called his name Asher.

When it was [the time] of the wheat harvest, Reuben found mandrakes in the field & took them to his mother, Leah. Rachel [asked,] I pray [that] you give me [some] of your son’s mandrakes. [Leah] said, Is it a small matter [to you] that you have taken away my husband? Would you take away my son’s mandrakes also?

Rachel said, Therefore, [Jacob] will lie with thee tonight for your son’s mandrakes. [When] Jacob came out of the field in the evening, Leah went to meet him & said, You must come & [be intimate] with me, because I have surely hired you with my son’s mandrakes & he lay with her that night.

God [listened] to Leah & she [became pregnant & bore] Jacob the 5th son. [And Leah] said, God has given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband & she called his name was Issachar. [Then,] Leah [became pregnant again & bore] Jacob the 6th son. And Leah said, God has endowed me with a good [gift for my husband;] now [Jacob] will dwell with me, because I have [given birth to] 6 sons [for] him.

[Leah] called  his name Zebulun. Afterward, [Leah bore] a daughter & called her name Dinah. [Then,] God remembered Rachel & [listened] to her & opened her womb. And she [bore] a son & said, God has taken away my reproach. [Rachel] called him Joseph & said, The Lord will [give] to me another son.

[It [happened] when Rachel had Joseph, Jacob said to Laban, Send me away, [so] that I may go to my own place & to my country. Give me my wives & my children, for whom I have served you & let me go: for you know my service that I have done for you.

Laban said to him, I pray [that] if I’ve found favor in your eyes, stay, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake. [Laban asked,Tell] me [what you want for] your wages & I will give it. And [Jacob said to Laban,] You know how I have served you & how your [sheep] were with me.

For you had [few] before I came & now it [has] increased to a multitude, because the Lord has blessed you, since my coming. Now, [how] shall I provide for my own house, also? [Laban] said, What shall I give you?

Jacob said, If you do this thing for me, you [don’t] have to give me anything & I will again feed & [tend] your flock. I would pass through all your flock today, removing from [there] all the speckled & spotted [livestock] & all the brown [livestock] among the sheep & speckled & spotted among the goats & [these will] be my [wages.]

[This way, in the future, my righteousness shall answer for me, when [I] shall come before you [about my wages.] Everyone that isn't speckled & spotted among the goats & brown among the sheep with me, [shall be considered] stolen. Laban said, [Look, It should] be according to your word.

[So] that day, [Laban] removed all the [male] goats that were [steaked] & spotted & all the [female] goats that were speckled & spotted. And everyone that had some white in it & all the brown among the sheep & [put] them into the [hands] of his sons. And [Laban put] a 3 day journey between himself & Jacob. And Jacob fed the rest of Laban’s flocks.

Jacob peeled white strips to make the white appear in the rods of green poplar, hazel & chestnut [trees] & set the rods [that] he had [peeled] in the gutters in the watering troughs. [So] when the flocks came to drink, they would conceive before the rods & the flocks [delivered livestock] speckled & spotted & [streaked offspring] & he kept his flock separate from Laban’s.

Jacob [separated] the lambs & [had them face toward] the [streaked] & all the brown of [Laban's] flock. [Jacob] put his own flocks by themselves & [didn't] put them [with] Laban's [livestock.]

It [happened, whenever] the stronger [livestock] conceived, Jacob [put] the rods in the gutters [in front of] the eyes of the [livestock, so] that they might conceive among the rods. But when the [livestock] were [weak, Jacob didn't] put them in. So, the [weaker livestock] were Laban's & the stronger [were] Jacob's. [Jacob became] exceedingly [prosperous] & had [large flocks, male & female servants] & camels & [donkeys.]

Genesis 29:1-35 Jacob Goes to Find a Wife

Jacob Goes to Find a Wife

Genesis  29:1-35               The First Book of Moses Called Genesis

Then, Jacob went on his journey & came to the land of the people in the east. And he looked & [saw] a well in a field with a [large] stone on the top of the well's mouth lying by it, that watered 3 flocks of sheep. [After] the flocks were gathered, they rolled the stone [off] from the well's mouth & watered the sheep. [Afterward, they] put the stone in [its] place upon the well's mouth again.

Jacob [asked the men, Where are] you [from?] And they [told] him, We are [from] Haran. [Jacob asked,] [Do] you know Laban, the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him. [Jacob asked them,] Is he well? And they said, He is well. [Look,] Rachel, Laban’s daughter, comes with the sheep.

And [Jacob] said, [Look,] it's [still the middle of the] day. It's [not] time to water the cattle should be gathered together, [you should] go water the sheep & then go feed them. And they said, We can’t do it until the flocks [are] gathered together & [until] they roll the stone from the well’s mouth. Then, we water the sheep. While [Jacob] was [still talking] with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep: for she kept them.

When Jacob saw Rachel, [Laban's] daughter, his mother's brother & [his] sheep Jacob went [close] & rolled the stone from the well’s mouth & watered Laban’s [his mother’s brother’s] flock. [Then,] Jacob kissed Rachel & lifted up his voice & wept. And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father’s [relative] & Rebekah’s son. So she ran & told her father.

It [happened] when Laban heard the [news] about Jacob, his sister's son, Laban ran to meet him & embraced & kissed him & brought him to his house. And [Jacob] told Laban all these things. And Laban said, Surely you are my flesh & bone. [Jacob stayed] with him for a month. Then Laban said to [Jacob,] Because you are my [relative,] should you serve me for nothing? Tell me what your wages [should] be?

And Laban had 2 daughters, Leah [the eldest who was delicate] & Rachel the younger who was beautiful & well-favored]. Jacob loved Rachel & said, I will serve you for 7 years for Rachel, your younger daughter.

Laban said, It is better to give her to you, than to another man: stay with me. Jacob served [Laban] 7 years for Rachel, [which] seemed to him [like] a few days, [because of] the love he had for her. Jacob said to Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, so that I may [be intimate with her].

Laban gathered all the men of his [area] together & made a feast & it was in the evening & Laban took his [older] daughter Leah to Jacob [instead, unbeknownst to Jacob] & he was [intimate] with [Leah.] Laban gave Leah’s maid, Zilpah, to his daughter as a handmaid.

It [happened] in the morning, [Jacob saw,] it was Leah [instead of Rachel] & he [asked] Laban, What is this you have done to me? Didn't I serve you for Rachel? [Why] have you [deceived] me? Laban said, In our country, [they can’t] give the younger [daughter] before the firstborn.

[Leban told Jacob,] Fulfill [Leah’s] week & we will give [Rachel] also & for [your] service with me [still another] 7 years. And Jacob did so & fulfilled [Leah's] week. [Laban] gave his daughter, Rachel, [as a] wife also [to Jacob.] Laban gave her handmaid, Bilhah, to Rachel to be her maid. [Jacob was also intimate] with Rachel & he loved her more than Leah.

[Jacob] served with [Laban another] 7 years. When the Lord saw that Leah was [unloved,] He opened her womb, but Rachel was [childless.] Leah [became pregnant & delivered] a son & named him Reuben. [Leah] said, Surely the Lord hath looked on my affliction & now my husband will love me.

[Leah became pregnant] again & had a [2nd] son & named him Simeon & said, Because the Lord has heard I was hated, therefore, He hath given me this son, also. [Leah became pregnant] again & had a [3rd] son & said, Now this time, my husband will be joined with me, because I have [given birth to] 3 sons. Therefore his name was called Levi. [Leah got pregnant] again & had a [4th] son & she said, Now I will praise the Lord: therefore she [named] him Judah & [stopped bearing children].

Genesis 28:1-22 The Lord God Appears to Jacob

The Lord God Appears to Jacob on a Ladder in a Dream

Genesis  28:1-22               The First Book of Moses Called Genesis

Isaac called Jacob & blessed him and [commanded] him & said, You shall not take a wife [from] the daughters of Canaan, [but] arise & go to Padan Aram to the house of Bethuel, your mother’s father, to [find] you a wife [from] the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother.

*[May] God Almighty bless you & make you fruitful & multiply you that you may be a multitude of people & give you the blessing of Abraham & to your [descendants] with you, that you may inherit the land where you are a stranger, which God gave to Abraham.

[Genesis 22:17 That in blessing, I will bless you & in multiplying, I will multiply your [descendants like] the stars of heaven & the sand which is upon the seashore. And your [descendants] shall possess the gate of his enemies.] Isaac sent Jacob away to Padan Aram to Laban, [who] was the son of Bethuel, the Syrian & [was] the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's & Esau's mother.

When Esau saw that as Isaac had blessed Jacob & sent him away to Padan Aram, to [find] a wife from [there] & [commanded] Jacob, saying, You shall not take a wife [from] the daughters of Canaan; And that Jacob obeyed his father & mother & [left for] Padan Aram.

Then, Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan, [didn't] please Isaac, his father, he went to Ishmael [Abraham’s son by Hagar] & married his daughter, Mahalath, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife. [Genesis 26:34 And Esau was 40 years old when he took [as] wife, Judith, the daughter of Beeri, the Hittite & Bashemath, the daughter of Elon, the Hittite.]

Jacob went out from BeerSheba toward Haran & came to a certain place & [stayed] there all night, because the sun had set. And he took & put stones [from] that place [at his head] as pillows & lay down to sleep. And when he dreamed: a ladder was set up on the earth & [its] top reached to heaven & the angels of God were ascending & descending on it.

And [Jacob saw,] the Lord stood above it & said, I am the Lord God of Abraham, your father & the God of Isaac. *The land where you lie, I will give to you & your [descendants]. Your [descendants] shall be [like] the dust of the earth & spread to the west, east, north & to the south & in you & in your [descendants] shall the families of the earth be blessed.

[Isaiah 9:6 For unto to us, a Child is born, unto to us, a Son is given & the government shall be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God & the Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.]

*[See,] I am with you & will keep you in all places, wherever you go & will bring you [back] again to this land; for I will not leave you, until I have done what I have spoken [about] to you.

[Joshua 24:12-13 And I sent the hornets [in front of] you, which [drove] them out from before you. Even the 2 kings of the Amorites, but not with your sword [or] bow. And I have given you a land for which you didn't [work] & cities [that you didn't] build & you [live] in them. You eat of the vineyards you [didn't] plant.]

Jacob [awoke from] his sleep & said, Surely the Lord is in this place & I [didn’t] know it. He was afraid & said, How [inspiring] is this place! This is none other than the house of God & the gate of heaven.

Jacob arose early in the morning & took the stone that he had put for his pillows & set it up as a pillar & poured oil on top of it. [Jacob] called the name of the place BethEl, but the name of that city was called Luz, [previously.]

Jacob [made] a vow saying, If God will be with me & keep me [on] this [road] that I go & will give me bread to eat & [clothing] to put on, so that I come back to my father’s house in peace; then the Lord shall be my God. And this stone which I have set [for] a pillar, shall be God’s house & all that You shall give me, I will surely give a 1/10th to You [Lord God.]

Genesis 27:1-41 Isaac’s Blessings as He Nears Death

Isaac’s Blessings as He Nears Death

Genesis  27:1-41               The First Book of Moses Called Genesis

When Isaac was old, his eyes were so dim he couldn’t see & he called his eldest son, Esau, &  told him that he was old & doesn’t know when his death will be & asked him to take his weapons & quiver to the field & hunt venison & prepare savory meat that he loves for him, so he [Isaac] could eat it & bless him, before he dies.

Rebekah spoke to her son, Jacob, telling him what Isaac, his father, had said to Esau. Then she told Jacob to obey [her] & go get 2 choice kid goats from the flock & bring them to her, so she can make savory food from them like his father loves & then, Jacob can give it to his father before his father’s death.

Jacob was [concerned he would be found out] & get a curse instead of a blessing, because Esau is a hairy man & he isn’t. His mother said to let the curse be on her, but go get the [kid goats] for her. After Jacob [brought] them to his mother, she made the savory food such as his father loved.

Rebekah took the [clothing] of her eldest son, Esau, that were in the house & put them on Jacob, her younger son, along with the skin of the kid goats on Jacob’s hands & the smooth part of his neck. When she gave Jacob the savory meat & bread, she had prepared, he went & gave it to his father.

When his father asked who he was, Jacob said that he was Esau, his firstborn & he had done according to what he [Isaac requested]. I pray that you, sit up & eat of my venison so that your soul may bless me. Isaac asked him, How did you find it so quickly?  Jacob said, The Lord God brought it to me.

Isaac said, Come there, so I can feel you to see if you are really my son Esau or not. Jacob went near to his father who felt him & said that the voice is Jacob’s, but the hands are Esau’s & Isaac didn’t [recognize] him because his hands were hairy like Esau's, so Isaac blessed him [Jacob]. Isaac then asked him if he was really Esau, his son & Jacob said that he was.

Isaac asked him to bring his savory venison to him to eat, so his soul could bless him. Jacob gave him the food & wine to drink & came near. Isaac asked him to come & kiss him & he kissed his father who could smell [Esau’s scent of the field which the Lord had blessed] on his clothing.

Isaac blessed Jacob saying, May God give you of the dew of heaven & the fatness of the earth & plenty of corn & wine. Let peoples & nations serve you & bow down to you. Be [master] over your brethren & let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you & blessed be everyone who blesses you!

As soon as Isaac [finished] blessing Jacob & he was gone from the presence of his father, Esau, his brother, came in from hunting & made savory meat & brought it to his father & said, Let my father arise & eat of his son’s venison, [so] that your soul may bless me.  When his father asked who he was, he replied that he is Esau, his firstborn son.

Isaac was trembling & asked where was the one who had taken venison & brought it to me & I ate it & blessed him before you came? Esau cried bitterly when he heard his father’s words & begged his father to bless him, too. Isaac said that his brother came with subtlety & had taken away his blessing. Esau said that he is rightly named Jacob, because he has taken away both his birthright & [now] his blessing!

Esau asked if his father had reserved a blessing for him? Isaac said that he had [already] made Isaac his master & has given all his brethren to him as servants & [blessed] him with corn & wine & wondered what he should do. Esau asked if Isaac only had one blessing & wept asking his father to bless him.

Isaac’s blessing of Esau was, Behold, your dwelling shall be of the fatness of the earth & dew from the heaven above. He shall live by his sword & he shall serve his brother. It shall come to pass when he [Esau] has dominion, that he will try to break his [Jacob’s] yoke off his neck. Esau hated Jacob for the blessing he got.

[Esau] planned in his heart that he would kill Jacob when the days of mourning for his father, Isaac, were at hand. Rebekah was told these words of [Esau’s plan] & called for Jacob, her younger son & told him that his brother, Esau, is planning to kill him, so he should obey her & flee to her brother, Laban in Haran & stay with him a few days until Esau’s fury turns away & he forgets what you have done to him.

Then she will send for Jacob & said, Why should I be deprived of both of you in one day? Rebekah told Isaac that she is [worried to death], because of the daughters of Heth [Esau married] & if Jacob selects a wife from the daughters of Heth, as well, what good would her life be?

Genesis 26:1-35 God Promised to Multiply Isaac’s Descendants

God Promised to Multiply Isaac’s Descendants

Genesis  26:1-35                The First Book of Moses Called Genesis

There was a famine in the land that was [after] the first famine in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech, king of the Philistines, in Gerar. The Lord appeared to [Isaac] & said, [Don’t] go down into Egypt, but live in the land, which I shall tell you.

[Stay] in this land & I will be with you & bless you; for to you & to your [descendants] I will give all these countries to your [descendants] & I will  perform the oath I swore to Abraham, your father. *I will make your [descendants] multiply [like] the stars of heaven. I will give your seed all these countries. And in your seed, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because Abraham obeyed My voice & kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes & laws.

[Genesis 22:18 And in your [descendants] shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because you have obeyed my voice.]

[So,] Isaac dwelt in Gerar [in Canaan]. And the men of the place asked about his wife [Rebekah] & he said, She is my sister, [because he was afraid] to say. She was my wife & [Isaac] said, Lest the men of [this] place [might] kill me for Rebekah, because she was [beautiful] to look upon. [After] he had been there a long time, it [happened] that Abimeleck saw through a window as Isaac was [being affectionate] with Rebekah, his wife.

Abimelech called Isaac & said, [Look,] surely, she is your wife. How [could] you say, She is my sister? Isaac said, Lest I die [on account] of her. And Abimelech said, What is this you have done to us? One of the people might have [been intimate] with your wife & you [would] have brought [guilt] upon us. And Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He [who] touches this man or his wife shall surely be put to death..

The Lord blessed Isaac, [who] sowed in the land & [reaped] in the same year 100 fold. [Isaac became very prosperous] & grew great for he had [a great number:] of flocks, herds & [many] servants, [so] the Philistines envied him. The Philistines had filled [up] the wells with earth that his father, Abraham had [dug] & Abimelech [told] Isaac, Go [away] from us, [because] you are much mightier than we [are].

And Isaac departed [from there] & pitched his tent in the Valley of Gerar & dwelt there. And Isaac [re-dug] the well his father, Abraham, [had originally dug,] [but] they had been stopped [up by] the Philistines after Abraham [died.] Isaac called the wells by the names which his father called them.

And Isaac’s servants [dug] in the valley & found a well of [running] water there. The herdsmen of Gerar [quarreled] with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, The water is ours & he called the well Esek; because they [quarreled] with him. [When] they dug another well [the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled] over that one, also & called [the well] Sitnah. Isaac [moved] from there & [dug] another well & called it Rehoboth, because, The Lord has made room for us & we shall be fruitful in the land.

When [Isaac] went up from [there] to BeerSheba, the Lord appeared to him that same night & said, I am the God of Abraham, your father. [Don’t] fear for I am with you & *I will bless you & multiply your [descendants] for My servant Abraham’s sake. Isaac built an altar there & called on the name of the Lord. [Genesis 22:17 That in blessing, I will bless you & in multiplying, I will multiply your [descendants like] the stars of heaven & the sand which is upon the seashore. And your [descendants] shall possess the gate of his enemies.] [Isaac] pitched his tent there & Isaac’s servants [dug] a well.

Then, Abimelech [came to Isaac] & Ahuzzath, 1 of his friends, along with Phichol, the chief captain of his army. And Isaac [asked] them, Why have you come to me, [since] you hate me & sent me away from you? They [told Isaac,] We've certainly seen how the Lord is with you & want to make a covenant [contract] & oath with you, [so] that you [don’t harm] us, [since] we haven’t [harmed] you & have only done good to you & have sent you away in peace. You are now the blessed of the Lord [God.]

And [Isaac] made them a feast & they [ate & drank.] In the morning, they [swore an oath] to one another & Isaac sent them away in peace & they [left.] The same day, Isaac’s servants told him about a well they had [dug] & found water. [Isaac] called it Shebah. Therefore the name of the city is BeerSheba to this day.

[When] Esau was 40 years old, he took [as wives:] Judith, the daughter of Beeri, the Hittite & Bashemath, the daughter of Elon, the Hittite. [They both] were a grief to Isaac & Rebekah.
