Peace Offerings to the Lord |
Leviticus 3:1-17 The Third Book of Moses Called Leviticus |
And if his [offering] is a Peace Offering sacrifice & if he offers it [from] the herd, whether it is a male or a female, he shall offer [the animal] without blemish before the Lord. |
And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering & kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation & Aaron & his sons, the priests, shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar [all around.] He shall offer the sacrifice of the Peace Offering made by fire, to the Lord. |
He shall [cut] away: the fat [of the bull, lamb, or goat] that covers the [internal parts] & the fat on [them,] the 2 kidneys & the fat on them, which is by the flanks & the [fatty lobe] above the liver, with the kidneys. And Aaron’s sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is upon the wood on the fire. It is [the food of the] offering made by fire, of a sweet [aroma] to the Lord. All the fat is the Lord’s. |
[Except when] he shall offer the sacrifice of [a lamb as a] Peace Offering made by fire to the Lord. He shall [also cut] away: the fat [of it] & the whole fat rump, shall [be taken] off, [cut off close to] the backbone of the lamb & is burnt with the fat that covers & is upon the [internal parts.] And the 2 kidneys & the fat on them, which is by the flanks & the [fatty lobe] above the liver, with the kidneys. |
The priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire, to the Lord. It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that you eat neither fat nor blood. |
[Leviticus 7:22-27 And the Lord [spoke] to Moses, saying, Speak to the children of Israel, saying, You shall eat no [type] of fat [from an:] ox, sheep, [or] goat. And the fat of the [animal] that dies of itself & the fat of [the animal] torn by beasts, may be used [for] any other use, but you shall in no [way] eat it. For [whoever] eats the fat of the [animal,] of which men offer [as] an offering made by fire to the Lord, even the [person who] eats it, shall be cut off from the people. |
[Also,] you shall eat no [type] of blood, whether it [is] of your [birds or animals,] in any of your dwellings. [Any person who] eats any [type] of blood, even that [person] shall be cut off from his people.] |
