These are the sons of Israel, [a.k.a. Jacob:] Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar; Zebulun, Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad & Asher. [Judah's] sons: Er, Onan & Shelah: [these] 3 were born to him [by Shua's] daughter, the Canaanitess. |
[Judah's] first born, Er, was evil in the sight of the Lord & He [killed Er.] [Judah fathered, his] daughter-in-law, [Tamar's twin sons,] Pharez, [a.k.a. Perez] & Zerah. All the sons of Judah were 5. |
[Pharez'] sons: Hezron & Hamul. [Zerah's] sons: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, [a.k.a. Kalkol] & Dara [a.k.a. Darda:] 5 in all. |
The son of Carmi, [a.k.a. Karmi]: [was] Achar [a.k.a. Achan, who caused trouble for] Israel, who [sinned] in the accursed thing. [Joshua 7:20-21 And Achan answered Joshua & said, Indeed, I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel & I have done [this:] When I saw among the [plunder] a [Babalonian] garment & 200 shekels of silver & a wedge of gold, then I [desired] them & took them. [Look,] they are [hidden] in the [ground] in the [middle] of my tent & the silver [is] under it.] [Ethan's] son: Azariah. |
[Hezron's] sons born to him: Jerahmeel, Ram & Chelubai, [a.k.a. Caleb.] Ram [fathered:] Amminadab. Amminadab [fathered:] Nahshon, [the leader] of the children [people] of Judah. |
Nahshon [fathered:] Salma [a.k.a. Salmon.] Salma [fathered:] Boaz. Boaz [fathered:] Obed. Obed [fathered:] Jesse. |
Jesse [fathered:] his first born, Eliab; Abinadab, the 2nd; Shimma [a.k.a. Shimea & Shammah,] the 3rd; Nethaneel [a.k.a. Nethanel,] the 4th; Raddai, the 5th; Ozem, the 6th & David, the 7th, whose sisters were Zeruiah & Abigail. |
[Zeruiah's] sons: Abishai, Joab & Asahel: 3. Abigail [gave birth to:] Amasa. [Amasa's] father was Jether, the [Ishmaelite.] Caleb, [Hezron's] son, [fathered:] the children of Azubah, his wife & [also by] Jerioth. [Jerioth’s] sons are: Jesher, Shobab & Ardon. |
When Azubah was dead, Caleb [married:] Ephrath [who gave birth to:] Hur. Hur [fathered:] Uri. Uri [fathered:] Bezaleel [a.k.a. Bezalel.] Afterward, Hezron [was intimate with & later at 60 years old married] the daughter of Machir [a.k.a. Maker & Makir,] [who was] the father of Gilead. |
[The daughter of Machir gave birth to:] Segub. And Segub [fathered:] Jair, who had 23 cities in the land of Gilead. And Geshur [a.k.a. Geshurites] & Arman [a.k.a. Syrians] took the towns of [Havvith] Jair from them, with Kenath & [its] towns: 60 cities. [Deuteronomy 3:14 Jair, [Manasseh’s] son, [captured] all the country of Argob [all the way to] the coasts of [the Geshurites & Maachathites] & called [Bashan] after his own name, Havoth Jair, [until] this day.] |
All these belonged to the [descendants] of Machir, the father of Gilead. After that, Hezron [died] in Caleb Ephratah. Then, Abiah, [a.k.a. Abijah;] Hezron's wife gave birth to:] Ashur, the father of Tekoa. |
The sons of Jerahmeel, [Hezron's] firstborn were: Ram, first born; Bunah; Oren; Ozem & Ahijah. Jerahmeel also had another wife, whose name was Atarah. |
She was the mother of Onam. The sons of Ram,[Jerahmeel's] firstborn, were: Maaz, Jamin & Eker. [Onam's] sons were: Shammai & Jada. [Shammai's] sons: Nadab & Abishur. |
[Abishur's] wife was named Abihail & she [gave birth to:] Ahban & Molid. [Nadab's] sons: Seled & Appaim; but Seled died without children. [Appaim's] son: Ishi. [Ishi's] son: Sheshan. |
[Sheshan's] son: Ahlai. The sons of Jada, [who was] the brother of Shammai: Jether & Jonathan. Jether died without children. [Jonathan's] sons: Peleth & Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel. |
Now, Sheshan had no sons, [only] daughters. Sheshan had an Egyptian servant, whose name was Jarha. Sheshan gave his daughter to [marry] Jarha, his servant & she [gave birth to:] Attai. |
Attai [fathered:] Nathan. Nathan [fathered:] Zabad. Zabad [fathered:] Ephlal. Ephlal [fathered:] Obed. Obed [fathered:] Jehu. Jehu [fathered:] Azariah. Azariah [fathered:] Helez. Helez [fathered:] Eleasah. |
Eleasah [fathered:] Sisamai, [a.k.a. Sismai]. Sisami [fathered:] Shallum. Shallum [fathered:] Jekamiah. Jekamiah [fathered:] Elishama. Now, the [descendants] of Caleb, [who was] the brother of Jerahmeel, were: Mesha, his first born, [who] was the father of Ziph & the sons of [Ziph were] Mareshah, the father of Hebron. |
[Hebron's] sons: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem & Shema. Shema [fathered:] Raham. [Raham fathered:] Jorkoam [a.k.a. Jorkeam] & Rekem [fathered:] Shammai. [Shammai's] son was Maon. |
Maon [fathered:] Beth Zur. Caleb's [mistress,] Ephah, [gave birth to:] Haran, Moza & Gazez. [Haran also fathered a son named:] Gazez. [Jahdai's] sons: Regem, Jotham, Gesham [a.k.a. Geshan,] Pelet, Ephah & Shaaph. |
Caleb's [mistress,] Maachah, [a.k.a. Maakah gave birth to:] Sheber & Tirhanah. She also [gave birth to:] Shaaph. [Shaaph fathered:] Madmannah & Sheva. Sheva [fathered:] Machbenah, [a.k.a. Makbenah] & Gibea. |
[Caleb's] daughter was Achsa [a.k.a. Achsah & Aksah.] These were the [descendants] of Caleb. [Caleb's] son [was] Hur, [who was] the first born of Ephratah, [a.k.a. Ephrathah, were:] Shobal, the father of [the community of:] Kirjath Jearim [a.k.a. Kiriath Jearim, Kirjath-Baal & Baalah, ] |
Salma the father of [the community of:] Bethlehem. Hareph the father of [the community of:] Beth Gader, [a.k.a. Geder.] [The descendants of Shobal, who was the father of [Kirjath Jearim were:] Haroeh; half of the [families of] Manahethites [a.k.a. Manu Hoth.] The families of Jirjath Jearim: the Ithrites: Puhites [a.k.a. Puthites;] & Shumathites & the Mishraites. |
[From] them came the Zareathites [a.k.a. Zorathites] & the Eshtaulites [a.k.a. Eshtaolites.] [The descendants] of Salma: Bethlehem & the Netophathites, Ataroth the house of Joab, [a.k.a. Atroth-BethJoab, or Astaroth-BethJoab] & half of the Manahethites [a.k.a. Manahathites] & the Zorites. |
And the families of the scribes, [who lived in] Jabez [were:] the Tirathites, the Shimeathites & the Suchathites [a.k.a. Sucathites.] These are the Kenites, [who] came [from] Hemath [a.k.a. Hammath,] the father of the house of Rechab [a.k.a. Rekabites or Beth Rekab.] |
