Now, [Issachar's] sons were: Tola, Puah, [a.k.a. Puvah,] Jashub & Shimrom, 4. [Tola's] sons [were:] Uzzi, Rephaiah, Jeriel, Jahmai, Jibsam, Shemuel, [a.k.a. Samuel,] heads of their father's [families.] |
During the days David [ruled, there were:] 22,600 valiant men of might [throughout Tola's] generations [of descendants.] [Uzzi's] son [was:] Izrahiah. [Izrahiah's] sons: Michael, Obadiah, Joel & Ishiah, 5. All of them were chief men [a.k.a. leaders.] |
And with them were bands of soldiers, 36,000 men ready for war. By their generations of their [father's] families, for they had many wives & sons. And among their [relatives] of all the families of Issachar were 87,000 [mighty] valiant men [recorded] by their genealogies. |
[Benjamin's] sons [were:] Bela, Becher, Jediael, 3. [Bella's] sons: Ezbon, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth & Iri, 5. [They were] heads of their [father's families] & were 22,034 [mighty,] valiant men, recorded by their genealogies. |
[Benjamin’s] sons [were:] Bela, Becher & Jediael: 3. And [Bela’s] sons: Ezion, Uzzi, Uzziel, Jerimoth & Iri: 5 [leaders] of their [families] of their fathers, 22,034 mighty men of valor, [recorded] by their genealogies. |
The sons of Becher, [a.k.a. Beker:] Zemira, [a.k.a. Zemirah,] Joash, Eliezer, Elioenai, Omri, Jerimoth, [a.k.a. Jeremoth,] Abiah, [a.k.a. Abijah,] Anathoth & Alameth, [a.k.a. Alemath.] All these are the sons of Becher. |
[They were leaders] of their [fathers’ families] & were 20,200 [mighty,] men of valor, [recorded] by their genealogy & by their generations. [Jediael's] son [was:] Bilhan. [Bilhan's] sons: Jeush, Benjamin, Ehud, Chenaanah [a.k.a. Kenaanah,] Zethan, Tharshish [a.k.a. Tarshish] & Ahishahar. |
All these were the sons of Jediael. [They were leaders] of their [fathers’ families] & were 17,200 [mighty,] valiant men, soldiers fit to go out to war. |
Also, Shuppim,[a.k.a. Shupham] & Huppim, [a.k.a. Hupham,] [descendants] of Ir, [a.k.a. Iri] & Hushim, the [descendants] of Aher. [Naphtali's] sons: Jahziel, [a.k.a. Jahzeel,] Guni, Jezer & Shallum [a.k.a. Shillem,] [who are Bilhah's descendants.] |
[Manasseh's descendants:] Ashriel, [Manasseh’s grandson &] [in addition to him, Manasseh's Syrian mistress also gave birth to:] Machir, [a.k.a. Makir,] the father of Gilead. Machir [married] Maachah, [a.k.a. Makkah, who was] the sister of Huppim & Shuppim. |
The name of the 2nd was Zelophehad, [who was the great-grandson of Manasseh.] And Zelophehad [only fathered] daughters. And Maachah, [Machir's] wife [gave birth to] a son & called him: Peresh. His [brother's] name was Sheresh & his sons were: Ulam & Rakem. |
And [Ulam's] son [was:] Bedan. These were the [descendants] of Gilead. [Gilead was] the son of Machir. [Machir was] the son of Manasseh. His sister, Hammoleketh, [gave birth to:] Ishod, [a.k.a. Ishhod,] Abiezer, [a.k.a. Jeezer] & Mahalah, [a.k.a. Mahlah.] |
The sons of Shemidah, [a.k.a. Shemida were:] Ahian, Shechem, Likhi & Aniam. [The descendants of] Ephraim: [Ephraim's son was:] Shuthelah. [Shuthelah's son was:] Bered. [Bered's son was:] Tahath. [Tahath's son was:] Eladah. |
[Eladah's son was:] Tahath. [Tahath's son was:] Zabad. [Zabad's sons were:] Shuthelah & Ezer & Elead. [Ezer & Elead] were killed by the men born in the land of Gath, because they came down to take their [livestock.] |
And their father, Ephraim, mourned [for] many days & his brethren came to comfort him. And when he [was intimate with] his wife, she conceived & [gave birth to] a son & he named him Beriah, because [of all the tragedy in] his house. |
(And his daughter was Sherah, [a.k.a. Sheerah,] who built [the Lower & Upper] Beth Horon & Uzen Sherah, [a.k.a. Uzzen Sheerah.]) And Rephah was [Beriah’s] son & also Resheph. Telah [was:] his son. Tahan [was:] his son. |
Laadan [was:] his son. Ammihud [was] his son. Elishama [was:] his son. Non, [a.k.a. Nun was:] his son. Jehoshua, [a.k.a. Joshua was:] his son. |
And their possessions & [places they lived] were [in:] Bethel & [its] towns, eastward: Naaran, [a.k.a. Naarath] & westward: Gezer, with [their] towns. Also, Shechem & [its] towns [all the way] to Gaza [a.k.a. Ayyah] & [its] towns. |
And by the borders of the children [people] of Manasseh, [were:] Beth Shean, Taanach, Megiddo & Dor & [all of their] towns. The children [people] of Joseph, the son of Israel [a.k.a. Jacob, lived] in these [places.] |
[Asher's] sons: Imnah, Isuah, [a.k.a. Ishvah,] Ishuai [a.k.a. Ishvi] & Beriah & Serah, their sister. [Beriah's] sons: Heber & Malchiel, [a.k.a. Malkiel,] who is the father of Birzavith, [a.k.a. Birzaith & Birzoth.] |
Heber [fathered] Japhlet, Shomer [a.k.a. Shemer] & Hotham, [a.k.a. Helem] & their sister, Shua. [Japhlet's] sons: Pasach, [a.k.a. Pasak,] Bimhal & Ashvath. These are the children [people] of Japhlet. |
The sons of Shamer, [a.k.a. Shemer:] Ahi, Rohgah, Jehubbah, [a.k.a. Hubbah] & Aram. The sons of his brother, Helem: Zophah, Imna, Shelesh & Amal. [Zophah's] sons: Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah, Bezer, Hod, Shamma, Shilshah, Ithran, [a.k.a. Jether & Jithran] & Beera. |
[Jether's] sons: Jephunneh, Pispah & Ara. And the sons of Ulla: Arah, Haniel, [a.k.a. Hanniel] & Rezia, [a.k.a. Rizia.] All these were the children [people] of Asher. |
[They were] heads of their [father's families] & were 26,000 [of the best mighty,] valiant men, chief of the princes [leaders, recorded] throughout [their genealogies, of those who were trained for] war & battle. |
