Manasseh's Doomed to Destruction for Their Witchcraft, Idols & Astrology |
2 Kings 21:1-26 2 Kings [in Smaller Chunks] |
Manasseh [a.k.a. Manesseh,] was 12 years old when he began to [rule] & [he ruled] 55 years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Hephzibah. |
[Manasseh] did [what] was evil in the sight of the Lord, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord [threw] out before the children [people] of Israel. [2 Kings 16:3-4 But he [followed] in the [ways] of the kings of Israel. |
[Yes,] he made his son pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord cast out from before the children [people] of Israel. And he sacrificed & burnt incense in the high places, on the hills & under every green tree.] |
For [Manasseh] again built up the high places [that] his father, Hezekiah, had destroyed. And he [put] up altars for Baal & made a grove, [like] Ahab did. |
[He] worshiped all the [stars & constellations] of heaven [a.k.a. astrology] & served them. And [Manasseh,] built altars in the house of the Lord, of which the Lord said, I will put My Name in Jerusalem. |
[Jeremiah 7:30 For the children [people] of Judah have done evil in My sight, [says] the Lord. They have [put] their abominations in the house which is called by My Name, to [defile] it.] |
And [Manasseh] built altars for all the [stars] of heaven in the 2 [courtyards] of the [Lord's] house. And [Manasseh] made his sons pass through the fire & observed times, [a.k.a. horoscopes & astrology,] used enchantments, [a.k.a. witchcraft] & dealt with familiar spirits [a.k.a. consulting mediums] & wizards. |
He [did] much wickedness in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger. And [Manasseh put] in the [Lord's] house an [carved] image, [from] the grove that he made, in the [Lord's] house. |
Which the Lord said to David & [to] his son, Solomon, In this house & in Jerusalem, [that] I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I will put My Name [there] forever. |
Neither will I make the feet of [the Israelites] move any more out of the land which I gave their [forefathers,] only if they will observe & do according to all I have commanded them & according to all the Law, that My servant, Moses, commanded them. |
But they [didn't listen] & Manasseh, [enticed] them to do [even] more evil than the nations did, whom the Lord destroyed before the children [people] of Israel. |
And the Lord [spoke] by His prophets, saying, Because Manasseh, [Judah's] king, has done these abominations & has done [more] wickedly [than] all that the Amorites did, [who] were before him, |
And [he] has also made Judah sin with his idols. Therefore, the Lord God of Israel [said this, Look,] I am bringing [so much disaster] upon Jerusalem & Judah, that both the ears will tingle of [whoever] hears of it. |
And I will stretch over Jerusalem & the [measuring] line of Samaria & the plummet [used against Ahab's] house & I will wipe [out] Jerusalem, [like] a man wipes a dish, wiping it & turning it upside down. |
I will [abandon the rest] of [My] inheritance & deliver them into the hand of their enemies. And they shall become a prey & [plunder] to all their enemies, because they have done [what] was evil in My sight & have provoked Me to anger, since the day their [forefathers] came [forward] out of Egypt, even [until] this day. |
[Also,] Manasseh, shed the blood [of the] innocent, [so] much, [until] he had filled Jerusalem from 1 end to the [other.] [In addition to] his sin, [with which] he made Judah sin, in doing [what] was evil in the sight of the Lord. |
Now, [aren't] the rest of [Manasseh's actions] & all he did & his [sins that he did,] written in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And Manasseh [died] & slept with his [forefathers] & was buried in the garden of Uzza, [at] his own house. |
And Amon, his son, [ruled] in his [place.] Amon was 22 years old when he began to [rule] & he [ruled] 2 years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, [Haruz'] daughter, [from] Jotbah. And [Amon] did [what] was evil in the sight of the Lord, [like] Manasseh, his father, did. |
And [Amon followed] all the [ways] his father [followed] & served & worshiped the idols that his father served & worshiped them. And [Amon abandoned] the Lord God of his [forefathers] & [didn't follow] in the [ways] of the Lord. |
And [Amon's] servants conspired against him & [killed] him in his own house. And the people of the land, [killed] all [those who] conspired against king Amon. And the people of the land made Josiah, his son, king in his [place.] |
Now, [aren't] the rest of [Amon's actions that] he did, written in the Book of Chronicles of the Kings of Judah? And [Amon] was buried in his [tomb] in the garden of Uzza & Josiah, his son, [ruled] in his place. |
