Acknowledge the Lord in your Path & He Will Direct You

Proverbs 3:1-35                 Proverbs [in Smaller Chunks]

My son, [don’t ] forget my [Law;] but let your heart keep my commandments. [Deuteronomy 8:1 You shall observe, [a.k.a. obey,] & do, all the commandments [that] I have commanded you this day. [So] that you may live, multiply, & go in & possess the land, [that] the Lord [swore] to your [forefathers.]

For [many] days, & [a] long life, & peace shall [be] [added] to you. [1 Kings 3:9-13 Therefore, give Your servant, [a.k.a. me, Solomon,] an understanding heart to judge the people, [so] that I may discern, [a.k.a. distinguish,] between good & bad. For who is able to judge this, Your [multitudes of] people? And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. And God said to [Solomon,] Because you [have] asked this thing, & [haven't] asked for yourself long life; neither [have] asked riches for yourself, nor [have] asked [for] the life of your enemies; but [have] asked for yourself: understanding to discern judgment. [See,] I have done according to your words. [Look,] I have given you a wise & understanding heart; so that, there [were] none like you, [prior] to you. Neither shall any arise after you, [similar] to you. And I have also given you [what] you [haven't] asked, both riches, & [honor:] so that there shall not be any among the kings, [similar] to you, all your days, [a.k.a. life.]

[Don’t] let mercy & truth [abandon] you. [Tie] them [around] your neck; & write them upon the [tablet, within] your heart, so you [shall] find [favor] & good understanding in the sight of God, & man. [Proverbs 6:21 Continually bind, [a.k.a. hold,] them upon your heart, & tie them [around] your neck.]

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, & [don’t depend] [on] your own understanding. Acknowledge [the Lord God] in all your [roads,] & He shall direct your paths. [Don’t] be wise in your own eyes. Fear, [a.k.a. respect,] the Lord, & depart from evil. It shall be [healthy for] your [body,] & [strengthen] your bones [like] marrow. [Romans 12:17-18 [Don’t repay any] man evil for evil [done.] Provide honest things in the sight of all men. If [it's] possible, as much as you [are able,] live [peacefully] with all men.]

[Honor] the Lord with your [possessions,] & with [the tithes of] the first fruits of all your increase [of produce,] so, your barns [are] filled with plenty, & your [wine vats] burst with new wine. [Malachi 3:10 You, bring all the tithes into the storehouse, [so] that there may be meat, [a.k.a. food,] in [My] house, & [test] Me now [with this, says] the Lord of Hosts. If I won't open [for] you the windows of heaven, & pour out a blessing [for] you, [so] that there shall not be enough room to receive, [a.k.a. to take,] it.]

My son, [don’t] despise the [chastising, a.k.a. discipline,] of the Lord, neither be weary of His correction. For the Lord [corrects] [those] whom He [loves,] even [like] a father, [who corrects] the son in whom he [is] [delighted.]

[Revelation 3:19-21 I [reprimand & chastise,] as many as I love. Therefore, be zealous, & repent. [Watch,] I stand at the door, & knock. If any man [hears] My voice, & [opens] the door, I will come in to him, & will [dine] with him, & he with Me. I will grant to him [who]overcomes,] to sit with Me [on] My throne, even [like] I also overcame, & Am [sitting] down with My Father [on] His throne.]

Happy is the man [who finds] wisdom, & the man [who gets] understanding. For [its gain] is [more valuable] than [the profit of] silver merchandise, & the gain [of it, [is better] than fine gold. [Job 28:12-13 But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man [doesn't know] the [value of it;] & neither is it found in the land of the living.]

[They, a.k.a. Wisdom, & understanding, are] more precious than rubies; & [anything] you [can] desire [can’t] be compared to [them.] [Matthew 13:44 Again, the Kingdom of heaven is [similar] to treasure [hidden] in a field, [which,] when a man [has] found [it,] he [hides,] & for [the] joy [of it goes,] & [sells] all that he [has,] & [buys] the field.]

A [long life] is in the right hand of [wisdom, & understanding,] & riches & [honor] in [their] left hand. [The roads,] [of] [wisdom & understanding] are [pleasant,] & all [their] paths are [peaceful.] [Wisdom & understanding] is a Tree of Life to [those who grasp them,] & happy is everyone [who remembers them.]

By wisdom, the Lord [has laid the foundations of] the earth, & by understanding, He [has] established the heavens. [Job 38:4-6 Where [were] you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if you [have] understanding? Who [has] laid the [measurements of it,] if you [know?] Or Who [has] stretched the [measuring] line upon it? [Upon what] are the foundations [of it] fastened? Or Who laid [its] corner stone?]

By [the Lord God’s] knowledge the [ocean] depths are broken up, & the clouds drop down the dew. [Genesis 7:11 In the 600th year of Noah’s life, [on] the 17th day of the 2nd month, [on] the same day, all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, & the windows of heaven were opened.]

My son, [don’t] let them depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom, & discretion, [a.k.a. making responsible choices,] so they shall [deliver] life unto your soul, & grace to your neck. Then, you [shall] walk in your [path] safely, & your foot shall not stumble. [Psalm 37:24 Though he [falls,] he shall not be [totally] cast down: for the Lord [upholds, a.k.a. supports,] him with His hand.]

When you [lie] down, you shall not be afraid. [Yes,] you [shall] lie down, your sleep shall be sweet. [Don’t] be afraid of sudden fear, & neither the [destruction] of the wicked, when it [comes.]

[1 Peter 3:17-18 For it is better, if the will of God [is] that you suffer for doing well, [a.k.a. good,] than for doing evil. For Christ [has] also suffered once for [our] sins, the just for the unjust, [so] He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but [made alive] by the [Holy] Spirit.]

For the Lord shall be your confidence, & shall keep your foot from being [caught.] [Don’t] withhold good from [those] to whom it is due, when [it’s within] your power to do it. [Galatians 6:10 Therefore, Let us do good to all men, as we have [the] opportunity, especially to [those] who are of the household of faith.]

[Don’t] say to your neighbor [who needs something,] Go & come again. & tomorrow, I will give [it;] when you [have] it by you. [Deuteronomy 24:14-15 You [shall] not oppress [a] hired servant [who] is poor, & needy, whether he is [is] of your brethren, or of your strangers, [a.k.a. foreigners, who] are within your gates, in your land. [On] his day, [he worked,] you [shall] give him his [wages,] & neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, & [sets] his heart upon it, lest he [cries] [out] against you to the Lord, & [it's] [considered to] be sin to you.]

[Don’t] devise evil [plots] against your [neighbor,] seeing [that] he [lives] securely, [a.k.a. safely,] by you. [Don’t argue] with a man  without [a reason,] if he [hasn’t] done [any] harm [to] you. [Romans 12:17-18 [Don’t repay any] man evil for evil [done.] Provide honest things in the sight of all men. If [it's] possible, as much as you [are able,] live [peacefully] with all men.]

[Don’t] envy the oppressor, & [don’t] choose [any] of his ways. [Judges 10:11-14 And the Lord said to the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel, [Didn't I deliver you from the: Egyptians, Amorites, the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Ammon, & from the Philistines? Also: the Zidonians, [a.k.a. Sidonians,] Amalekites, & the Maonites, [who] [oppressed] you. And you cried [out] to Me, & I delivered you out of their hand. [Still,] you have [abandoned] Me, & served other gods. [For this reason,] I will no [longer] deliver you. Go, & cry [out] to the gods, [that] you have chosen. Let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.]

For the [wicked] [person] is [an] abomination to the Lord: but [the Lord’s secret, [a.k.a. mystery,] is with the righteous.  [Psalm 18:6-8  I called upon the Lord in my distress, & cried [out] to my God. Out of His temple, He heard my voice, & my [out] cry came before Him, even into His ears. Then, the earth shook, & trembled. Also, the foundations of the hills moved, & were shaken, because He was [furious.] Smoke went up there out of His nostrils, & coals were [ignited,] & devoured by fire out of His mouth.]

The curse of the Lord is [on] the house of the wicked; but He [blesses] the [home] of the just. Surely, [the Lord God scorns] the scorners, [a.k.a.those who look down on others,] but [gives] grace to the lowly, [a.k.a. humble.] [James 4:6-7 But [God gives] more grace. [For this reason, God says,] God [resists] the proud, but [gives] gracee to the humble. Therefore, submit, [a.k.a. yield,] yourselves to God. Resist the devil, & he will flee from you.]

The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the [legacy] of fools.
