Proverbs 10:1-32                                  Proverbs [in Smaller Chunks]

The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son [makes] a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness, [a.k.a. grief,] of his mother. [The] treasures of wickedness [are of] [no benefit:] but righteousness [delivers] [people] from death.

[Isaiah 55:6-7 You, seek you the Lord, while He may be found, & call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked [abandon] his [ways,] & the unrighteous man  [abandon] his thoughts. And let him return to the Lord, & to our God, & He will have mercy upon him, for He will abundantly pardon.]

The Lord [won’t allow] the soul of the righteous to [starve:] but He [casts] away the [possessions] of the wicked. He [who deals] with a [lazy] hand, [becomes] poor: but the hand of [those who work] [diligently, a.k.a. show painstaking effort, makes] [him] rich.

He [who gathers] [crops] in the summer is a wise son: but he [who sleeps during] harvest, is a son [who causes] shame. [Proverbs 6:6-8 Got to the ant, you [lazy person;] which [has] no: [leader; supervisor,] or ruler, & consider her ways, & be wise. [She provides grain] in the summer, & [gathers] her food in the harvest.]

Blessings are upon the head of the just, [a.k.a. righteous:] but violence [covers, a.k.a. conceals,] the mouth of the wicked. [James 3:5-6 Even so, the tongue is a little member [of the body,] & [boasts of] great things. [See,] how [large] a [problem,] a little fire [kindles, a.k.a. ignites!] And the tongue is a fire, [that leads to a] world of [sinfulness.] The tongue [does] so among our [body's] members [so] it [defiles] the whole body, & [sets] the course of nature on fire. And it is set, [a.k.a. focused,] on [the fires] of hell.]

Blessed is the memory of the just: but the name of the wicked shall rot. [Ecclesiastes 8:12-13 [Although] a sinner [does] evil 100 times, & his days [are] prolonged, [still,] I surely know that it shall [go] well with [those, who] fear, [a.k.a. respect,] God, & [who] [show] [respect in front of] Him. But it shall not [go] well with the wicked, & neither shall he prolong his days, which are [like] a shadow, because he [doesn't] [show] [respect in front of] God.]

[Those with a] wise heart will receive commandments: but a [babbling] fool shall fall, [a.k.a. be ruined.] He [who walks, a.k.a. follows,] uprightly, [a.k.a. honestly,] walks [securely:] but he, [who leads people astray,] shall be known. [Ephesians 4:14 That [from now on,] we [are] no [longer] children tossed [back & forth,] & [led astray, with every wind of doctrine, [a.k.a teaching,] by the [trickery] of men, & [deceitful plots with which] they lie in wait to deceive.]

He, [who winks] with [his] eye [causes] sorrow: but a [babbling] fool shall fall, [a.k.a. be ruined.] The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence [hides] the mouth of the wicked. Hatred [stirs] up [discord:] but love [covers] all sins. [1 Corinthians 13:1-2 [Although] I speak with the tongues of men, & of Angels, [a.k.a. speaking in different languages,] & I [don't] have charity, [a.k.a. love,] I [have become [like] sounding brass, or a [clanging] cymbal. And [although] I have the gift of prophesy, & understand all: mysteries, & knowledge, & [although] I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, & I [don't] have charity, [a.k.a. love,] I am nothing.]

Wisdom is found [on] the lips of him [who has] understanding: but a rod is for the back of him [who] is [without] understanding. Wise men [store] up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction. [Psalm 18:7 A fool's mount is his destruction, & his lips are the snare, [a.k.a. trap,] of his soul.]

His strong [fortified] city is the rich man’s wealth, & their poverty is the destruction of the poor. [Amos 5:12 For I know your [many] transgressions, & your mighty sins. They afflict the just, they take a bribe, & they turn [away] the poor in the gate, from their rights.]

The [labor] of the righteous [leads] to life: but the fruit, [a.k.a. wages,] of the wicked [leads] to sin. [Proverbs 5:22 The wicked himself, shall [be caught] in his own iniquities & he shall be [held] with the cords of his sins.]

He, [who keeps] instruction is in the [path] of life: but he, [who refuses correction, goes astray.] He, [who hides] hatred with lying lips, & he [who utters] slander, is a fool. He, [who refrains] his lips is wise: but in the multitude of words, there [is] [no lack of] sin.

The tongue of the just is [like] choice silver: & the heart of the wicked is [of] little [value.] The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for [lack] of wisdom. The blessing of the Lord, [makes] [people] rich, & He [doesn’t add] sorrow with it. [Genesis 26:12 Then, Isaac sowed, [a.k.a. planted,] in that land, & [reaped, a.k.a. harvested,] the same year, 100 [times] [more.] And the Lord blessed him.]

To [plot, & cause harm through] mischief, is [like a] sport to a fool: but a man [with] understanding [has] wisdom. [Proverbs 15:21 [Foolishness,] is joy to him, [who] is [without] wisdom, but aman [without] understanding [walks, a.k.a. follows, righteously.]

[What] the wicked fear, shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. [Matthew 5:6 Blessed are [those, who] hunger & thirst after righteousness; for they shall be filled.]

[Like a tornado passes] [away,] so [shall] the wicked no [longer exist:] but the righteous [have] an everlasting foundation. [Psalm 37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those [who] wait on the Lord, shall inherit the earth.]

[Like] vinegar [does] to the teeth, & smoke [does] to the eyes, so is the [lazy person] to them, [who] send him [to work.] The fear, [a.k.a. respect,] of the Lord [prolongs life:] but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Gladness shall be the hope of the righteous: but the [hope] of the wicked shall perish. The [Lord’s] way, is strength to the [righteous:] but destruction shall be [for those] [who] [work sinfully.]

The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth. [Proverbs 3:33 In the house of the wicked is the curse of the Lord; but He [blesses] the [homes] of the just.]

The mouth of the just [brings] forth wisdom: but the [deceitful] tongue shall be cut out, [a.k.a. destroyed.] [James 3:8-9 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. [With this,] we bless, even God the Father, & [with this,] we also curse men, [who] are made in the [image] of God.]

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked [speaks deceitfully.] [Matthew 12:34-37 O generation of vipers, how can you, being evil, speak good things? For the mouth [speaks] out of the abundance of the heart. A good man [brings] forth good things out of the good [treasures,] of the heart. And an evil man, [brings] forth evil things, out of the evil [treasures] [of the heart.] But I say to you, That [on] the Judgment Day, they shall give account [of] every idle word that men shall [say.] For you [shall] be justified by your words, & you [shall] be condemned by your words.]
