A Young Man Getting Caught Off Guard With a Seductress |
Proverbs 7:1-27 Proverbs [in Smaller Chunks] |
My son, keep my words, & [store] up my commandments [within] you. Keep my commandments, & live. And [keep] my Law as the apple of your eye. [Isaiah 55:3 [Lean] your ear, & come to Me; & hear, and your soul shall live. And I will make an everlasting covenant, [a.k.a. contract,] with you, even the sure mercies of David.] |
Bind, [a.k.a. Tie,] them upon your fingers, & write them upon the [tablet] [within] your heart. Say to wisdom, You [are] my sister. And call understanding [a close relative, so] they may keep you from the strange, [a.k.a. foreign,] woman. From the stranger, [a.k.a. seductress, who flatters] with her words. |
At the window of my house, I looked through my [lattice, & saw] among the simple [minded] ones, I [noticed] a young man [without] understanding, among the [youth,] passing through the street near her corner. And he went [up the] [path] to her house, in the twilight [of] the evening, in the black, dark night. [Proverbs 6:32 But [whoever commits] adultery with a woman, [lacks] understanding. He, [who does] it, [destroys] his own soul.] |
And, [saw,] a woman, [with a deceitful] heart, met him there, [dressed] [with the clothing] of [a] harlot. (She is loud, & stubborn; & her feet [don’t stay] in her [own] house. |
Now, she is [outside;] & now [she’s] in the streets, & [lies] in wait, [a.k.a. to ambush,] at every corner.) So, she caught him, & kissed him, and with a [shameless] face, [she] said to him, I have peace offerings with me. I have paid my vows [today.] |
Therefore, I came [out] to meet you, & [looked intently for] your face, & I have found you. I have [decorated] my bed with [covers] of tapestry, with carved works, & with fine linen [from] Egypt. I have perfumed my bed with: myrrh, [aloe,] & cinnamon. |
Come, let’s take [& satisfy] our love until the morning. Let us [comfort] ourselves with [sexual intimacy.] For the [head of the household] is not at home, & he's on a long journey. He [has] taken a bag of money with him, & will come home [on] the [scheduled] day. |
With her [pleasant] speech, & with flattering lips, she caused him to yield, [a.k.a. give in.] She [seduced] him. [Proverbs 5:3-5 For the lips of a strange, [a.k.a. immoral,] woman [drip] like honeycomb, & her mouth is smoother than oil. But [in the] end, [she] is bitter [like] wormwood, & sharp [like] a 2 edged sword. Her feet go down to death; & her steps take hold [of] hell.] |
He [went] after her [immediately, like] an ox [goes] to the slaughter. Or [like] a fool [goes] to the [punishment in chains, until an arrow strikes] through his liver; [like] a bird [hurries] to the snare, & [doesn’t know] that [the trap is to] [take] his life. [Ecclesiastes 9:12 For also man [doesn't know] his time [of death.] [Like] the fish that are taken in an evil, [a.k.a. bad] net, & [like] the birds that are caught in the snare, [a.k.a. trap.] So, are the sons of man snared in an evil, [a.k.a. bad,] time, when it [falls] suddenly upon them.] |
Therefore, [pay attention] to me now, O [you] children, & [heed] the words of my mouth. [Don’t let your] heart [turn aside] to her [road,] & [don’t go] astray in her paths. For she [has] wounded, & cast down many strong men [who] have been [killed] by her. |
[1 Kings 11:1-4 But king Solomon loved many strange, [a.k.a. foreign,] women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh. Women of the: Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, & Hittites. [From] the nations, [about] which the Lord said to the children, [a.k.a. people,] of Israel, You shall not go into them [intimately.] & neither shall they come into you. |
For surely they will turn away your heart after their gods. Solomon [clung] to these in love. And he had 700 wives, princesses, & 300 [mistresses.] And his wives turned his heart away. For it [happened,] when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods, & his heart wasn’t perfect, [a.k.a. blameless,] with the Lord his God, [like] the heart of David, his father was.] |
Her house is the [road] to Hell, going down to the chambers of death. |
And I heard, but [didn't understand.] Then, I said, O my Lord, What shall be the end of these things? And He said, Go [on] your way, Daniel: for the Words are closed up and sealed till the time of the End. Daniel 12:8-9 KJV
About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible::
About the Author of the Blogsite, Not the Author of the Bible: Since the Lord had it on my heart to write this blog, I was uncertain of how to accomplish this, mindful of Revelation 22:18-19, which says that nobody is to add to, or to take away from what was written in the Bible. After lots of prayerful contemplation, the Lord had it on my heart that I’m not to change the meaning of what is written in the Bible. He has also shown ways to add to people’s understating of that meaning, without altering the meaning, by putting that info within [brackets]. This is primarily accomplished with the KJV Bible and lots of prayers, but at times, BibleGateway.com, Biblehub.com, NIV Bible, Webster Dictionary, and other internet resources, as needed. About Understanding the Bible:
Understanding the Bible: After reading Isaiah 28:10 many times over the years and not totally understanding it, it recently became apparent to me that the Lord God has this passage as the means for understanding the Bible.
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little. Isaiah 28:10 KJV.
Being prayerful about this passage, and looking up 'precept' in the Webster's Dictionary, it gave this passage a whole new meaning, once 'commandment' is substituted for 'precept'. Within brackets are additional words the Lord had on my heart to aid in understanding the meaning.
For commandment must be [built up] upon commandment; commandment upon commandment; line upon line, line upon line; [developing understanding] here a little, and there a little.
The Table Format:
The Table Format: I was overwhelmed with how to explain the process for determining if someone had leprosy in Leviticus 13, which seemed very complicated. After praying, "Lord, if this is difficult for me to understand after reading it many times, how can this be explained to others?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was for me to put it into a vertical chart to visually see the process. This made it much easier for me to follow the progression. After doing so, I prayed, "Lord, how can this be conveyed to readers, so that they can understand this process?" The thought the Lord God had on my heart was to put it within the lines of a table. Being a stiff-necked, stubborn person, as it's often called in the Bible, I prayed, asking the Lord God if He's sure that's really what He wanted me to do? I reluctantly put Leviticus 13 into a table format. When I read this difficult leprosy process within a table format, it suddenly became easier for me to understand. That's because it builds line upon line, as explained in the Understanding the Bible section. Shortly after that, the Lord God had it on my heart, to put all of The Books of the Bible in Smaller Chunks within a table format, to aid in understanding, line upon line.
